There are 2 types of people: those who love hotdogs and everyone else.

I took my kids to try it out. I had not eaten there in almost 20 years. The Italian beef was pretty good. I got the peppers on the side, which was a good thing because they were really hot! The au jus was good, but not great. The Chicago-style polish dog was exceptionally delicious. My kids said the corn dog and chili dog were great. They polished them off. They only take cash. Thankfully, I had the cash in my wallet. I did not see an ATM in the place. I would have given them five stars except it is obvious they don’t care about the dining area. It needs a lot of work. It feels very grungy. You can’t tell by my pictures, but it is very dark inside there. There were at least two major fluorescent lights burned out. Also, the garbages were completely full. It takes only a few minutes to dump the trash. It would also be nice if they would remove the popcorn texture from the ceiling. It’s OK to have nostalgia in a building, but that appears to be simple neglect. Update the place a little inside, replace the lights, and take out the trash. I will definitely be back, but there’s room for improvement. This place could be spectacular! The customer service was really good.

Higley Hot Dog Hut is a home grown little hot dog stand with indoor seating and great dogs. Located just west of Higley Rd on Williams Field it is small but has about 8 parking spots for those wanting to dine in. The eatery takes only cash, which is more of a fading novelty these days than an inconvenience.

Great Chicago hot dog joint like the ones back in the Windy City. Love the dog and fries. Nothing fancy but walls covered with Chicago sports pictures.

Great place the hot dogs were delicious. Fast service. Cash Only come prepared. The fry’s were very good. The food seems a little pricey, but hey what doesn’t these days.

UPDATE MARCH 8 2022: STILL a solid 5 stars. Stopped in for lunch because we were nearby. Arrived at about noon and there was a short line out the door. Because service is so fast, the line was a non-event and moved quickly. Grabbed a couple of “the works” dogs, a plain dog, some fries, coleslaw and a fountain drink all for $18.50. STILL the best bargain around. Added some new pics.

Local spot, good hot dogs, fast service, and affordable price. Dogs are quite small but seems like good options. Nobody was there and they had our order ready in under 3 minutes. I had the spicy dog which wasn’t spicy at all but good taste. Older place and the staff had no personality.

Good Chicago dog, chili dog was just ok and messy, italian beef was very good and spicy. They do have inside seating after you order outside or they do have tables outside with umbrellas which is great for pet owners. Little pricey but was isn’t these days.

I’ve driven by this place so many times over the years, but never stopped to get a bite until today. If you like hot dogs, this place is great! Fast service, affordable, filling and delicious! I will definitely go back to try more variations!

Time after time I drove by and said one day I will stop. Wow, finally took the family there and had a few Chicago dogs. Everything you look for in a dog, ample condiments, delicious pickles, very good peppers. The fries were super crispy. My only gripe is the cash only, I wish they took cards but just be aware before you stop in.
