A very nice soon on traditional Mexican street food. Definitely with the visit. Tried the trash can nacho which were freaking amazing, one of each of the tacos and a coco jalapeno margarita. If your in the neighborhood stop by. You won’t be disappointed.

Came back for a second time and had a wonderful server named Neal. I was by myself but he was still kind even was nice enough to show me and my friends the experience of the trashcan nachos. The Margarita flight is something I get everytime it’s just so good. This is my spot I go to for great food and great service everytime.

We arrived right at opening. Friendly welcome. Sat immediately. We started with the totopos & salsa and trashcan nachos. Salsas were ok. The trashcan nachos hit the spot. Even the picky kids devoured it. I had the carne asada plate and the steak was huge. Rest of family had parrilada bowl, birria tacos, and kids quesadilla.

An unexpected delight found in the Berkeley neighborhood, Kalaka is found serving modern twists on classic drinks and dishes. They offer beer, wine and several flavors of margaritas. Can’t decide, grab the flight. Our recommendation is the watermelon margarita or the pineapple mezcal. Their take on latin fare is authentic which can be found in their barris tacos, yet creative with their tacos dorados which either is a great choice. If you’re in the area and looking for a delicious fresh take latin staples stop by.

I really enjoyed this spot, more than I thought I would based on a friend’s experience. Our bartender Rosie made us feel welcome and excited for our meal. We started with the cheesy, melty Choriquezo with flour tortillas. The hibiscus Marg was tasty and a little sweet for my taste. Same for the watermelon but I would definitely order again. The chicken tinga mole enchiladas were some of the best I’ve had. The interior was spacious and modern, good lighting. We will def be back to enjoy the patio when the weather is warm.

The Denver Foodie made a tiktok about this place, so I went. It lived up to the hype! I tried the totopos y salsas, tacos dorados, and the trash can nachos. The salsa flight was divine! The trash can nachos are more of an experience although the fresh veggie toppings were really good and surprising. They just didn’t keep as well as everything else because they’re nachos. The tacos dorados…now that’s what I want to talk about. They weren’t what I was expecting but I give those a 10/10. The taco shell is almost like a baked good. It has the faintest sweet taste that compliments everything else so well. It’s also a little big and comes with 3 of them, just be warned! I would definitely go back but if you’re going with just two people, you might end up ordering too much food if you order what I ordered.
