Just got in town after a long drive from South Carolina headed south to the Georgia border. Looked up best black owned restaurants in Macon and this place came up. We were very excited, only to be disappointed after walking in the door and being greeted by a brother who greeted me with , “what you want. Man?” It was so off-putting that I didn’t respond to him the first time because I just knew he couldn’t be talkin to me. He asked again, and I still did not respond. Finally on the third time when he asked, I asked him was he talkin to me? He said yeah. I told him I wanted to look at the menu and consider ordering some fish. I asked him if that was okay and he said yeah, and he closed the door to the back where they were preparing food. After about five more minutes of standing there with workers walking past us with no greeting, we left. I’m sure the Food is Good but with customer service like what we experienced, i will never spend my money at Saleem. The Culture was terrible.

I was visiting a friend in Warner Robbins who suggested we go to Saleems. What a treat. I had the fried catfish which was good and hot and seasoned just right. They are celebrating 40 years of existence! Wow! I sure am glad I had the opportunity to eat such good groceries!! May they celebrate another 40 years plus!!
