Gordo’s Taco Shop Menu – Kokomo, IN

Type : Mexican restaurant

Location : Kokomo, IN

We’ve been doing Kokomo’s best tacos since 1993. We introduced Carne Asada and Carnitas long before they became popular with the Foodie Crowd. Our recipes come from our family in Mexico and are guarded secrets. Our fresh salsa is made daily and never has canned tomatoes. That’s why it’s famous ’round these parts. We don’t pretend to be a cookie-cutter Tex-Mex Restaurant or a greasy-cheap fast-food joint. We are a uniquely awesome place to enjoy a truly delicious made from scratch meal. We don’t compare ourselves to the rest because they are busy trying to keep up with us. Our open kitchen design will make you feel confident that your meal is being prepared to the highest of health-code standards. We know that’s important!

I may be biased because I used to work there, but even now, years later, the food is still amazing! I plan visits home around Gordo’s being opened so I can try old favorites, and new limited options.

First time going and absolutely LOVED it ! Both kids enjoyed their food. My husband and I ate our food so fast I couldn’t even get a picture of it. He had the chicken combo works wet and I got carnitas quesadilla. One kid got a taco with beans other had taquitos with rice. No sweet tea but the unsweet tea was outstanding. Will be going back and highly recommend. Staff is friendly and welcoming to new customers

My kids and I came once and it was great, the girl working cashier and the girl cooking were wonderful and accommodating. I recommended my parents to go and the owner (an older gentleman) was downright rude to my parents. After inquiring about flautas without beans, the owner snapped “well that’s just an enchilada.” Lol. No… it’s not.

This is good food. Locals told me it’s been here a long time. Prices are good and the people were really nice.

Great food! The jalapeños are actually hot and the hot sauce is good! We had the Botanas and the Mexican Style tacos. Delish!

Unfortunately the Steak Burrito (I have gotten from Gordo’s for about 30 years but haven’t been here since they moved) was not very good at all this time. He used to have excellent food, very fresh and Homemade, so I’m hoping this visit was just an error. Going to try it next week and I truly hope this next visit will be much better.

Place was kinda dirty. The highchair straps looked really dark with stains. My table wasn’t clean despite all the workers sitting at a table because they had no customers. The food tasted like the stuff I can make at home. I did like the salsa and chips. The service was nice and helpful, so good marks for the cashier. I don’t think I’ll revisit. I really wanted to like a local business, but not this time.

One of my favorite local places to eat. Great food, great salsa. My faves are the street tacos and tamales.

Excellent food! Large portions! Try the beef burritos…the meat is amazing! And by far the best salsa in town! I love it and try to go weekly!
