If I could give one place 10 stars this would be it. Yesterday my son drove all the way from where we live which is an hour drive to get food from there. They are currently renovating the building so they are closed until August. My son locked his keys in the car just before he found out they were closed. The owner helped him get back into the card and have him a gift certificate for when they open back up. I can’t express how amazing it is to see that kind of kindness in this world. Their food has always been amazing and I can’t wait to see the new changes.

I’ve lived in Hernando FL for 3 years, and I’ve never had breakfast. In 2 words, The Best. Lolo, our server was quick and efficient. The atmosphere is like you would see in a diner, a place with good food and good prices. I will go back again real soon

Waited over an hour for our food (they were not busy, just short staffed), we were walking out the door when the waitress brought it out of the kitchen. The food was above average and if we hadn’t waited over an hour I would have rated better.

Excellent food. Curiously, I feel that the outside of the building does not do justice to the cozy interior. Delicious American Diner style food, with many choices. Last time I had their Reuben sandwich, and it was delicious. Portions are also quite generous. Highly recommended.

We just moved to Florida from Northern Virginia. Whenever I would pass Chicken King, the parking lot would be filled with vehicles. I looked on the Next Door App, and there were so many great reviews for this restaurant. We love it so much that we have there twice in one week. The food was terrific, the staff were very kind and attentive, and the cost was extremely reasonable. (They offer a discount if the tab is paid via cash)

Didn’t know what to expect of this place. Pleasantly surprised at every detail. The staff was friendly, helpful and sincere. Not only were they friendly but most of the customers they knew by name.

Had this on the calendar to visit after someone local to the area recommended it. We went on a Wednesday around 9:30 am and the parking lot and inside were packed. Wait staff was friendly and prompt. Many local folks appear to dine here and there was much visiting between tables. Decor was chickenish, with plenty of statuettes, images, teapots and feathered friends to chuckle over. Coffee was hot and service was good, everything came exactly as ordered. Prices were great for the very filling meals. I had the chicken fried steak with choice of potato, biscuit or toast and eggs (any style). My Mom had the Mexican omelette and hash browns with onion. The chicken fried steak was tender and had a nice shatter to the breading. The biscuits were light, fluffy and huge. Sausage gravy had big chunks of sausage and was flavorful. Mom finished her breakfast then finished my biscuit and the last few bites of the CFS. After our meal we had a nice visit with a table of local diners who asked us about our meal and if we would be back. (Yes!) Definitely worth the trip to visit this busy and fun hometown diner.

We went during a time that wasn’t busy. Food was pretty good. Wait time was terrible. Wait staff was not friendly. You have to watch prices closely as there is small print that adds a lot to price. The atmosphere was a lot more friendly and attentive for the locals (you could easily pick out who was a regular and who was a visitor). Good food, but I won’t be back because of small print up pricing and atmosphere. Definitely not somewhere to go for a quick bite.

Overall, good food for three. Started with appetizer Fried Green Tomatoes ($6). Brought to table was 4-slices at $1.50 ea with small radish sauce. This equates to 1 green tomato, 1 egg, flour. For the value it was NOT worth it and taste was not as good as expected when thinking of a tangy fried tomato. However, the rest of the meal- mex omelet, BLT, buffalo chicken wrap were good. We will certainly skip the appetizers in the future, until more value to the consumer added/is transparent in the menu. V/r
