What a delicious hidden gem! I had the chicken fried steak. It’s was really good. And I absolutely loved the gravy. Normally I don’t like white or country gravy but I could’ve ate that out of a bowl with a spoon my brother ordered the shrimp and fish. He said it was “very tasty indeed”. Overall, it was a great place for breakfast or lunch.

This was my first time trying food from this restaurant. Very very nasty food. $30 for food that was very unseasoned. The bread was beyond stale it was horrible. The “stuffing” was so ugly. I guess the best part about this plate was the green beans. I won’t be going back ever again sadly. ☹️

Have been here twice, and both time excellent! Got the chicken and waffles and my dad got the hamburger steak and onions. Staff is friendly and the place is very historical, such a cool atmosphere. I plan on coming to TAMUK so I look forward to visiting more! The only complaint I’ve had towards this place is 1) the wait times are pretty long, even for a scratch kitchen, though, I came while it was busy. Just know your food is homemade and is worth the wait, but I’d give a bit of grace if you have time to keep. 2) My dad’s hamburger steak with onions had one piece of onion on it. Otherwise, a gem of a place in Kingsville!

The fish plate was good but there were small portions for what you pay but the price of the drinks is what got me. You pay $3 a can of soda so they make off a 24pack of soda is about $72 when they cost $13 yea no. Do not recommend and will not be going back!

I want everyone that reads this to know, this is absolutely the best little homecoming Cafe Mom and I have been too in a very long time! We been here because my Grandmother has been in the hospital and the service, food, and just overall compassion the owner has given us you DO NOT find everyday! It’s comforting and just so laid back, when you walk in it smells like your Grandmother’s kitchen! You will NOT be disappointed! We are so happy we found this little treasure and we will definitely miss it!!! Y’all enjoy!
