Updated review 6/19/23: We orders two bowls of soup to go. Once we arrived home, we realized the chip bags that come with it: one had four chips and the other had three. 3 tortilla chips… I called and the nice employee told me the chips come pre-bagged like that. This must be a corporate decision and not a direct reflection on this particular location, but that does not make me a happy customer. (I had taken one chip out of one of the bags in the picture.

I must clarify that I am Bill Ferguson’s wife writing this review. We have gone to McAlister’s for years here in Knoxville and when traveling and it is usually one of our favorite places. My favorite thing there are the Spuds and Chicken Caesar Salads. We stopped going to the McAlister’s at Turkey Creek for about 6 months because I kept ordering a full sized spud and getting a half spud that looked like it was 2 days old, brown and inedible. Also, left chicken out of my Chicken Caesar salad. Thought we would give them another chance so this week, I ordered my usual. The salad was ok, but the potato once again was brown and small and must have been sitting for a long time. I could not eat it and had to make my own. This is it!!

My order was made wrong twice and had to be remade. We spent over $20 more at this mcalisters than others we frequent and ordered the same thing. It’s definitely not worth the price for the small amount of food you get.

I love their food. Everything is good. Soups, salads, sandwiches, potatoes, etc. Their sweet tea is the best too. I have given up sweet tea in my life and only drink I sweet now and McAl’s sweet tea is the only one I miss.

Delicious! Instead of a corn beef Reuben sandwich they are kind and let me order a turkey Reuben sandwich. I like the vegetable soup as my favorite, but they were not serving it today. So I got the slightly spicy chicken tortilla soup instead. All yummy.

This restaurant has the feel of a table service restaurant even though you order at the counter. The lighting in the restaurant is nice and bright, the huge windows add a lot of natural light. We received our food fast after ordering at the counter. Their food is always fresh and their employees are always very kind and courteous. It’s almost Chick-fil-a quality kindness. Our salads were nice and fresh. I would definitely recommend this place.
