Good meal. Always looking for good Mexican food that rivals what I’m used to from Texas. My late lunchtime to go order was the Short Ribs & Chili Rejenos. Both very flavorful. The neighborhood was questionable on Colfax such that I’m not sure I’d feel safe going to dinner at night. Parking was very limited with only the street parking on Colfax.

I’ve been coming here with my parents since 1970’s, I moved to Texas 2 years ago- you can’t get GOOD Mexican food in Texas and couldn’t wait to get back to Denver and go to LA Cueva. What a horrible disappointment.! The salsa was watered down and flavorless, the green chili on the Mexican hamburger was the same, watered down and flavorless and the margaritas tasted like plain mixer from a bottle. Service also left alot to be desired. Asked for our bill. She stood over us with a hand held, didn’t even get to review the bill. Unfortunately we will no longer stop here when in town.

Nice place and has been around for ages. Good food. The decor and setup is nice too. We also just had to have food to go for later because it was so good. We had Nachos as the appetizer and man are they good. I actually like that all the sour cream and extras aren’t on it I’m sure you can add it but I think the way they are already great! My daughter loves them too because she doesn’t like meat and all the extras. Got a Mexican Hamburger smothered and a beef burrito smothered for at home. All delicious and can’t forget the house margarita!

Went for dinner and everything was great. Food was delicious. Highly recommend the chili rellenos, burritos and enchiladas. Margaritas are also soo good! Chips and salsa is delicious. Great environment, fun spot to dine in for dinner and great Mexican food.

Ordered the Saturday lunch special. One small enchilada with a small scoop each of rice and beans. Really poor value for over $12. The scoop of guacamole was old and brown. Didn’t think it was edible. Taste was C – very average.
