The concept of the space is pretty cool. It reminds me a bit of places I used to eat at in Philly. There aren’t that many tables I think like 6 tables from 2person to 8person seating. Service was really slow and almost seemed they didn’t want to be there or be working. The food was all very heavy and greasy so be aware. Amongst 3 people we shared half and half wings, cheese corn, spicy pork bulgogi (rice is extra charge), korean pancake and cheese spicy rice cake. I tried to find something else on the menu to balance but it would have been a noodle dish or soup but not really what I was looking for. The korean pancake is thick so it’s on the heavier side. The rice cakes were okay nothing really special. The chicken isn’t like a whole chicken they’re a mix of wings and legs and they’re fairly small. It was good to try once but not really a place I’d go again.

Wait was kinda long but it was understandable given there were only 2 staff working a packed restaurant. Food was really good. Servings are huge so the price is higher.

Came here for the second time and food still did not disappoint it was already extremely busy for a 5:30pm Sunday dinner and my husband and I were very surprised. There was only one waiter taking and serving the order and no idea how she does it but we are very satisfied with the food and the service. Their fried chicken is always on point! We got the half & half FC, cheese deokbokki, eventually we also got the cream udon which was our personal favorite. The udon came really late (literally we finished all the rest of the food) so they apologized and just gave the udon to us on the house. We understand how busy it was but we appreciate the amount of effort that the waiter brings to still check everyone with their food. Highly recommend this place! Better come as early as 5pm to make sure you get seated quick.

I recently went to Underground Kitchen and it was an amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was unique and fun. The wings are phenomenal! The service was also excellent, with the staff being very knowledgeable about the menu and attentive to our needs. The restaurant is located in a cool underground space, which adds to the overall experience. I would highly recommend Underground Kitchen if you’re looking for a unique and delicious dining experience.

This review is for Underground Kitchen, not Shin Sung restaurant-which is located next to the restaurant. We got to the restaurant around 4pm. They open at 2pm. It was the prefect time to go since the dinner rush hadn’t started. The restaurant is located on the bottom floor. So you do have to walk down a long flight of stairs. The restaurant is not a large space, and it’s a pretty dark ambiance inside. The wait staff is nice, but they can also get really busy. We had to wait awhile for someone to take our order and also our check. We ordered onion rings, spicy rice cake, chap chae, honey garlic chicken, spicy seafood udon stir fry. We were not disappointed. Food is good. We will be coming back. They do take out orders as well.

This review is specifically for Underground Kitchen, which is in the basement floor below Shin Sung Restaurant. Not sure why both are grouped together on Google Reviews. Underground Kitchen was so good!! We got the Creamy Onion Chicken, Honey Garlic Chicken, Fried Gizzards, and Corn Cheese. All of the dishes were delicious, food came out in a timely manner, and our waiter was so nice! We can’t wait to come back!

Food was good. The service of the “uh huh” female employee is completely mediocre. Replies uh huh to thank you or anything else you request for. Felt rushed as she kept increasing the heat of the burners. The other negative reviews are true! You have to ask for refills on meat, rice and water since she won’t do her job. Noticed that they give special treatment to their own kind and are more attentive to them. Really thick faced to ask for a tip. Lousy service + uh huh = tip

I came to eat buffet here for dinner, ounni added kimchi without missing a beat, was attentive, always asked what we wanted. I’m impressed every time I come here. The owner of the business always smiles and welcomes customers as well.
