This is an Experience, not like any other restaurant. MUST try if you are in the Baltimore area. It is wonderful to chat with the staff, some who have been there for over 30+ years.

Was recommended, loved the low ceiling roof, arch hallways, the jamón with melon was the best when it comes to the food. The Pork chop could have been better prepared, the tomato mushroom sauce overpower the pork chop. Next time I come to town I’ll give it another try. Great service by the staff. Thank you.

I recently visited Restaurante Tío Pepe in the downtown area of Baltimore with a group of friends and colleagues, and I must say that it was a wonderful experience. This family-owned and operated business has been around for 55 years and is the only local restaurant to offer authentic, homemade Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine in the Baltimore area.

The food is absolutely overpriced! You are paying for the atmosphere – which is quaint and authentic feeling. However, the food was that of a backyard bbq by an alien who was attempting to create a Spanish dish based off of bland descriptions from books.

Food and service were wonderful. I feel like the restaurant could upgrade its appearance a little. The painted white brick is classic and I suppose the low light in the basement restaurant creates an ambiance that people have come to expect. This is definitely a Baltimore hall of fame dining experience.

Haven’t been there in probablyb30 years and dies just as good now as it was then. Had the best little corner table and our waiter, Oscar, was excellent. He has been there 47 out of the 53 or so years they have been in business. The Lamb was awesome and that Pinenut dessert was outta this !

This place was the jam back in the 1980s when there were few nice restaurants in Baltimore and this place was unique. It’s now hanging on with that same aging clientele, same ancient menu (with very very modern prices) and same dingy “club basement” decor/smell as you walk in. The menu portends to be Spanish, but everything pretty much tastes the same. Whether it’s truffle sauce or sherry sauce or garlic sauce it’s all the same salt laden slop. The meats are ok, but you can get much better elsewhere for the same or less. The seafood is all of questionable freshness. It’s like what the 1980s considered fine dining, except now – complete with outdated glass wear and surly service. Save your money.
