We stopped by for a very early dinner. The place was nearly empty. Our server was good. I think this is a fairly new place with contemporary decor. The menu selections were varied. While not your typical Mexican fare, it definitely had that style. The salsa for the chips was quite spicy. My grilled salmon was good, as was the flan. Food presentation was good and artful.

This visit was for lunch. Nice atmosphere. There’s patio dining, a bar and a photo backdrop. Today I sampled the Humo Cue Board and Seafood Fondue, they are both amazing. The Seafood Fondue has shrimp and mushrooms in a thin cheese sauce, and it is served with toasted bread….this is a MUST! The Humo Cue Board has pulled pork, chopped brisket, pickled vegetables, pimento cheese, spicy mustard and is also served with toasted bread. The chips are fresh, thin and crispy! This was a nice way to sample multiple items. Looking forward to another visit and exploring the menu!

Just ate at Humo tonight for the first time. Good food. But wanted to share with you something we experienced tonight that we likely won’t go back. As a Veteran I have a service animal (dog) and upon arrival the hostess said we could not seat inside, Even though they have a posted sign as you enter, service animals welcomed. She stated we had to go outside with our dog onto the patio. I explained it was a service animal and wanted a regular table inside. She said she had to get permission. She went and spoke to someone in the kitchen. She sat us in a corner in a closed section. It made us feel unwelcome. Service was slow since it was a closed area. I know the one of the owner’s Carlos would not be happy with his staff for such treatment of a disabled customer or any customer. Hope they get educated on ADA law soon. Would like to talk with owner on this situation.

Great service. The food was pretty average. The rice tasted like it came from a can. The beef enchiladas were tasty, but nothing special. I love their chips and salsa. Probably just an off day for the other food.

The food in Humo is billed as a mix of Mexican and BBQ. It is interesting. I had a shrimp cocktail appetizer and pulled pork tacos. I enjoyed both the meal and the rapid, attentive service.

Ordinarily I would give this restaurant 5 stars. Until tonight I have literally never been here that the service wasn’t perfection. Today, 6/1/23, has been different from the moment we walked in the door. No hostess to seat us so we head to the bar area where over the half wall we were chastised for seating ourselves. Next no service at all for at least 10 minutes. My husband had to go search for my water refill that was asked for when the food was served and his margarita was MIA for at least 15 minutes while the under qualified bar tender flirted with the young ladies at the bar. Our actual waitress has not been back once and the sweet chip girl has waited on us since food was delivered. When we asked to speak to a manager we were told there was no manager on duty. Seriously Humo! Get it together. Since asking to speak to the nonexistent manager we have been completely ignored by all and can’t even get a check.

Very random menu, and odd that this place has no website. Stumbled upon it and gave it a try, and was not disappointed by the food! Wouldn’t call it Mexican food though. There’s a a Nashville hot chicken sandwich with coleslaw or edamame appetizer or fish tacos…it’s kinda confusing. Good service and cool vibe. I’d recommend if your party can’t agree on what food to get…

Humo has a menu full of creative, Latin-inspired dishes. It’s not your typical “Mexican” restaurant. In fact, there is nothing “Mexican” on the menu starting with the seafood fondue. A scrumptious mix of veggies and shrimp mixed into a decedent cheese sauce. The Baja Shrimp has a terrific flavor. The shrimp is mixed with rice in a tomato butter sauce. It would be a little easier to eat without the tails still attached. The Torta De Res is inspired. The meat is juicy and cheesy. The dipping sauce adds another layer of flavor. The bar serves up numerous tequila cocktails. Try the Mexican Mule. No room for desserts this time.

Humo was absolutely delicious today! We had the half chicken (next level bird right there) and the Birria tacos. Queso was simple and so good! Great service and overall experience. A little loud due to the layout, but a nice atmosphere and nice decor. Well done Humo! This is our new favorite Mexican food place in Tyler.
