Simply the best in Tuscaloosa, and amongst the best I’ve ever had.

Had my first experience tonight and it was amazing. Crab cakes were great, steak was fantastic and the blackened swordfish was lovely. Our server, I believe her name was Maddie, was absolutely fabulous. She was attentive and so kind, I could also tell that the entire staff was working as a team and that’s always great to see. Crème brûlée was a good way to end the night. Can’t wait to be back!

We had a 7:30 reservation, we were sat within a few minutes. Took us 40 minutes to get drinks and appetizers. Our main dishes were good. Noticed a manager and bartender walking the floor talking and checking in with guests. No one came over to checkin on us. Okay for both service and food. We will not return or recommend.

For an upscale restaurant, their interior is a bit understated. But the food and selection are excellent. If you are looking for a special date place, you won’t go wrong here. This was our first visit, not sure why we’ve not been before. We’ll be back.

Gave it three stars because the food has gone down. The trout was on the dry side and needed a better sauce. The chocolate lava cake was not as good as Domino’s. Service and atmosphere were nice. Visited in April.

Awesome dining experience each time. Good and atmosphere are always top notch! Great for date night or a special celebration! And no need to fight downtown crowds!

Tried calling for a reservation during hours they were open. No one picked up. So, my wife and I proceeded to the restaurant to take a chance. It’s just before 6pm on a Wednesday night with the University not in session. All but 4 or 5 tables are empty, and we’re told they’re fully booked for the evening and can’t accommodate us. That’s fine, but maybe try maning the phone? Also, I doubt the bar is booked, but that wasn’t even presented as an option. Would have been a nice spot to eat on our 15th anniversary… but we ended up spending our $250 elsewhere.

We ate at Evangeline’s to celebrate my daughter’s graduation from UA. The ambience is relaxing with candles and beautiful place settings. The food was amazing. Several in our party had Shrimp & Grits which was in a tomato based sauce. It was delicious! Upon entering the restaurant, the hostess asked if we were celebrating anything and I told her my daughter’s graduation. To our surprise, at the end of the meal, they brought out a celebratory glass of champagne for our entire table. It was an amazing ending to an amazing meal.

We had a really nice dinner for our daughter’s birthday at Evangelines. The service was lovely, we weren’t rushed and the dinner was delicious. Everyone LOVED every dish served. We had a large party and they even had a Happy Birthday sign on the table. The desserts were delicious! Can’t wait to make this a regular stop when we are in Tuscaloosa!

Evangaline’s is my favorite for many reasons. The staff and food are amazing. The location, parking and ambience can’t be beat. We dined at the bar last night and had a fabulous meal and great drinks. My friend had the soup of the day and the 12 oz bone in Rib Eye. Both were perfectly prepared and delicious. Can’t wait to come back!
