This spot is incredible, and the real deal if you are looking for an authentic cheese steak. When I saw they bring their rolls in from Amoroso’s bakery, I knew I had to try it. Amoroso’s is famous for their rolls, supplying all of the most well known cheese steak spots in Philly. The sandwich was on point, the roll was just as good as expected, extremely soft with a nice chew to it, but the outside held up well to the greasiness of a cheese steak. Comes with onions and American cheese by default, but you can have them put anything you want on it. I tried a default order first, and then the next day I came back and ordered another one with provolone and some jalapenos and sweet peppers lol. Both were great, with nicely cooked and chopped steak and a ton of melted cheese that melts into the meat more as you eat it. The Mozzarella sticks were also very good, a nice crispy texture and the marinara had a ton of flavor. The “Chicken Marinara” sandwich (aka a chicken parm) was also great, but I would recommend ordering some extra marinara on the side. Meatball parm was gigantic and the roll compliments it so well. I did not try the burgers myself, but I did see a couple of them and I would say that burgers aren’t really their forte, id go with something on the Amoroso sub roll instead. Also, for those “wizwit” fans out there (if you know you know), I didn’t see any cheese wiz around, so i’m not sure if they carry it, may want to give them a call and ask if that’s what you are looking for. Give them a try, it won’t disappoint.

Dropped in for dinner. Had to order at the entrance and only the patio was open to sit down and eat. Ordered a half Philly cheesesteak combo with fries, and a half Philly pizza steak with pepperoni and potato salad combo. Both sandwiches were ok.

Definitely a great place to stop for a satisfying and filling meal at a great price; even for several people. For what this place lacks in finesse, it makes up for in sheer comfort food and affordability for anyone.

I have only been to lunch here so that is what my personal experience is here. Esthetically Is not very pleasing to the eye Seems old and antiquated The walls very plane it looks like a hodgepodge of just things that they had put up on the walls There is no common theme to tell you what this restaurant serves. The hanging lights are dirty and many of the decorative covers are broken some are tape. My table was very sticky, very gross feeling. As for the food there is nothing special very average. Nothing i have eaten here was full of flavor. Serving are not large and very , i guess depending on who is cooking. The service is outstanding we always had.

This place used to be great, 10-12 years ago. Last time we ate there they messed up one cheese steak and couldn’t seem to get refills. Waitress seemed to wander off, she never brought me a ticket and when I went up front to pay, nobody would take the money or even look my way. So we left without paying or a tip for that matter, well three weeks later they unbelievably pressed charges on me for “defrauding an innkeeper” over $23 worth of horrible service and horrible cheese steaks. I definitely won’t be returning and tell everyone I know what to expect from J Michaels. Petty, just petty.

Today was my first time here and it was delicious! I got the small Philly cheesesteak, fries with cheese, and an order of pickles with ranch. Our food came out rather quickly. Our waitress was real nice and checked on us often. The establishment was clean and very cold. I will be back.

Walked in, no one in line. Placed an order for two sandwiches and two sides. After watching multiple people march in the door, order their food, sit down, AND receive their food before me I knew there was an issue. I went up to the counter to ask if they had my order and I was told they were waiting on one of my sides. I went back up to the counter after about another 10 minutes only to be told the same thing. All in all it took 45 minutes from ordering to receiving my food. On top of that the sandwiches we cold.

Up until now I have been taking the drive from hampstead to get myself a cheesesteak. My recent visit was a huge mistake. I ordered a cheesesteak and mozzarella sticks for myself and my child. While waiting for there new order at counter system. One of the ladies handed away my food to the guys next to me. Knowing it was the wrong food she left it to them. We waited even longer to get our food as the guys next to us are enjoying there free food. The cheesesteak was very poor with literally no meat and cheese. Originally from philly I know how a real cheesesteak is made and this time that was not it. Use to ve the best lunch which reminds of home. Not anymore. Place has gone downhill quick. Ill just stay up my way and not wasting my time here. They lost a loyal customer who enjoys cheesesteaks. Also most of the staff are lazy so don’t be blaming the pandemic. Other places are still doing well don’t play the blame game.
