We were looking for a place to eat at the Arts District (Los Angeles) and ventured into the first place we found open at 5pm on a Monday… little we knew we were entering HEAVEN!!! Try anything and everything, Maribel, the hand roll expert, would be your best guide. And Vahe will great you with the best sake and Japanese beer advice!!!!

Amazing hand rolls! Great location in the hustle and bustle of the arts district, busy but the wait wasn’t too long. The shishito peppers were a great appetizer, if a bit salty. Seafood is very fresh and well flavored. Comparable to kazunori in setup, prices, food & service. I think I slightly prefer Yunomi because of the shorter wait time. Plus the rice/fish seems to come together a bit better as they’re more similar temperatures to each other. Maybe try both and see which you like!

Decided to stop here for a quick beer and snack while headed to another brewery. The sushi bento box converts to a mini table! It came with a couple of sauces and sides. It’s a bit on the pricey side but a fun experience. The interior is nicely decorated amd clean with an artsy kitchen window behind the sushi bar. The yuzu ale was refreshing!

I ordered a Five Cutroll + Sashimi Box with Tuna, Albacore, Salmon, Yellowtail, Shrimp Tempura, Yellowtail Serrano Sashimi, Albacore Crispy Onion Sashimi and Edamame. The box is not bad but I waited for the pick up for so long at the weekend. and the area is extremely hard to find a parking spot so I have to keep driving around..
