The menu is amazing, not just in offerings, but in the actual design. The food flavor and portions were excellent! The atmosphere was stellar! You can actually see the kitchen from the dining room and it is immaculate. Will definitely be back and bringing friends!

I USED to believe Baltimore didn’t have a restaurant that could satisfy my craving for Chinese food– something that was flavorful, comforting, but wasn’t served a “small plate” cause sometimes you want a GIANT helping of saucy, piping hot, Chinese food!

excellent place to find the *true* sichuan cuisine. it is a rear gem of food Nirvana! normally we don’t do fired rice, it was at our date’s requested. apologize for showing it. they are truly not that bad. most of us dinners are not used to these kind explosive flavors and tastes a sichuan cuisine. restaurant like such has become hard to find and they couldn’t stay in business too long. in a few years, all we going to see are some egg drop soup and general dao chicken on the menu. since the old chef retired at my favorite hole in wall on annapolis road, we have not tasted the true “chicken in sichuan pepper ” and “mapo tufu” for a very long time. this restaurant is the sister of another bistro in ellicott city “tea house”.

Tl;dr: Amazing Chinese/Sichuan food and I have enjoyed this place every single time I have come. My only regret is not discovering this place sooner.

Truthfully, I’ve tried this restaurant time and time again. Every time I try to convince myself that I ordered the wrong dish. So tonight I order several dishes. The Mapo Tofu, the Dan Dan Noodles, and the Braised pork. Extremely disappointed with all three. The Mapo Tofu was extremely oily, and the numbing spice which is typical for the dish was the only flavor. The Mapo Tofu had no meat in it, which may be a preference thing on my end but the Authentic chinese food i grew up with had meat in it. The Braised Pork was all fat no meat. The flavor was mild. The Dan Dan noodles didn’t even have enough sauce to cover the noodles. I think what was most disappointing is the raving reviews. As a person who grew up on authentic chinese food, this was not it.

Stopped here today and wasn’t really impressed by the food at all. The service was good but the food was by far mediocre. We ordered general tsao chicken, but it was lacking flavor. The chicken itself was good but the flavor just wasn’t there. We also ordered Lo Mein and it also was very plain. For the price we could have eaten somewhere else that had much tastier food. While eating our meal, we realized that we were never served with the hot tea we ordered. we didn’t even bother asking for it, it probably lacked flavor too. Don’t waste your time or money. If you want mediocre, this is definitely your spot.

the food here is incredible – the stir fried green beans are my favorite, but the braised pork belly, dan dan noodles and wontons in spicy oil are amazing! staff is very friendly and helpful, and the interior is comfortable and modern.

We love this place! The food is always delicious. There’s always a diverse crowd in here, but I appreciate the fact that native Chinese people actually eat here too. They have many menu items. It’s also BYOB.

Definitely authentic Chinese food and unlike a lot of sichuan places the spicy chicken was actually spicy. I also really like the environment it’s really nice and clean and more upscale than a lot of Chinese restaurants. Another thing to note, the pictures on the menu are probably downloaded and photoshopped online.
