Great service, good food… Very nice people.. Just a neat place to go.. love the pictures and puzzles on the walls.. They have a coffee group that puts the puzzle together owner glues and frames them then hangs them up.. Neat story. ..

The food wasn’t great. I expected a fluffy omelet, instead it was brown from cooking way to long, no cheese in it, but what saved the meal was the young waitress. She was so friendly and nice. Because of her we’ll give the place another try

The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is great and in large portions. You definitely get your bang for your buck. Plus the atmosphere gives you the feeling of being not only home but being back in the past with a old school charm.

We had a seminar scheduled with them. When we arrived the owner was very nasty and said if we did not have 20 people we could have the room we were promised. His wait staff were very embarrassed of the way he treated me. I felt bad for them. We changed our venue at the last minute and will never go back.

Had lunch at this place and was very surprised prices were good and food was great the Kalona Family Restaurant is on my list of great places to eat. I will see if I can get there for dinner one of these nights and see what the dinner menu is like.

The food is good but the hamburger’s are factory premade lacking in the Iowa beef flavor . I would like to see fresh hand made burgers for the price. They would probably sell more burgers if they did.
