My friends and I broke down in the town of Green River on a cross country trip back in 1988. I think we ate four meals in 2 days from the Chowhound. We’re from Pennsylvania but ever since then, over the past almost 40 years, when one of us is anywhere near Green River, we stopped in at the Chowhound. So happy that it is more or less unchanged since the 80s. Everything is fast food takeout basics and hopefully this place will never change.

I was on the Amtrak to Green River when I found this place. I went in blind. The atmosphere and service are amazing. I feel like I discovered the local gem of Green River. Everyone knows each other, great small town vibes. The only downside was packaging. It felt low quality and it made eating my food a bit difficult as condiments were distributed across the packaging. But overall great food, would come back again!

An all-around great place to get a burger/fries/shake. Nothing fancy just a great western burger, crispy curly fries and onion rings, and excellent shakes (got the oreo and the gal got a mint). Everything was freshly made. Good service too. You can tell the people who work there care about running a good business.

I think it is the best restaurant in Green River. In a town that looks nearly dead, this was the perfect place for food after a long day of driving and dirty hiking in the area. We got take out as we were staying the night in Green River. Food was hot and ready after we called it in. Perfect type of place after a day of hiking and you want a nice cheeseburger.

I was working on the Green River Airport. I stopped in several times. I’m a vegetarian so I stuck with the curly fries and mozzarella sticks. Their food is great, they are fast and let me tell you, they have the BEST ranch and fry sauce. Top-notch malts as well.

Love stopping in small town. Drive in type hamburger places. And the chow hound turned out to be a great one to stop them. Just had hamburger, tater tots and a large Snickers shake and they were all great. Place was very friendly, great place to stop. Whether it’s for a dessert, a full lunch, or bakery item, it’s a great place to stop. We’ve driven through an even state overnight many times in Green River. And now we will add this as our definite place to stop and eat. And if you’ve never taken time to stop the museum in town at the river, you should definitely do that.Great museum

Based on the reviews, I was expecting more. We got a 1/2 lb burger which had 2 patties, a chicken sandwich with fries and a blackberry shake. Quite disappointing. Food was very average. Stuff was very nice though. And the service was fast.
