For years we’ve come here on our way to California and it’s been the one nice thing about the drive. Unfortunately, this year wasn’t so great. The burger that I absolutely loved last year, was bland and unattractive this year. I “did” really enjoy the Root Beer though.

Love the cheese curds…also got me a biscuit…What happened to them??? I remember when they were big, this biscuit was literally just 2 bites..half the size I remember them being…Did they downsize the biscuit, or did they just not raise during cooking correctly…either way it was a disappointment. Went in for root beer floats. Ask for 60 percent ice, 50 percent root beer. Got about 10 percent ice cream. Took it back. The first thing they asked you pay for extra ice cream. I would have happily paid for it. They put another 10 percent in an called it good. So I got creamy root beer. Very disappointing. Not the memory I had in mind. Never go there again.

On my road-trip back home and I see an A&W ! I was so hopeful but it was not a true experience. My root beer was mostly fluff and barely any ice cream. They charge for sauce AND KETCHUP! What’s this Europe?! After spending over $50 the man threw me a a few just so I could go. Not a real A &W

On a trip to San Diego, we decided to stop an an A&W. This one was a co-brand with KFC. It seemed to lean more toward the KFC side of the co-brand but I had good memories of A&W from my childhood. It was a complete disappointment. The burgers were just bland frozen burgers you can get at any grocery store. I have no idea where the fries came from, but they were terrible. The only good thing was the root beer, which was A&W branded. I have serious doubts any of the food is A&W branded. Or maybe my memory, was better as a memory.
