First time trying Jamaican food and I definitely will be back when that curry goat is on the menu! Not a really big place but the flavor from the food is gigantic as it comes! Those oxtails just slid right off the bone, and I wanted to try all the sides so the waitress Destiny hooked me up a veggie plate on the side. I was surrounded by family and we all enjoyed the food here. The owner and cook both helped bring out the orders. I recommend calling ahead if you have a big crowd dining in, and there was a steady flow of people coming in for to-go plates. This right here is a true hidden gem!

Di Jerk Stop was a delightful experience! The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. They went out of their way to assist us with the menu, making the whole process smooth. Beyond the great meal, we even enjoyed a game of billiards. If you’re craving authentic Jamaican cuisine in Lafayette, LA, I recommend giving them a try.

Was not satisfied with my dinner. I had my food delivered. I ordered Jerk Chicken (dark meat) with steamed vegetables, rice and peas, sweet plantains, and a side of festival (4). I will say I appreciated the restaurant contacting me letting me know that the restaurant was low on dark chicken and had breast. So to accommodate me they added some oxtails with the quarter chicken. But when I got my food the chicken was burnt! black! not edible and lack flavor and the festival were burnt as well. I was very upset I spent over $30 on my meal and didn’t even enjoy it. I was excited to finally eat food that was from an island here in Lafayette because I am here for work from South Fl and being from the Caribbean. If I had picked it up from the restaurant instead of getting it delivered I would have asked for my money back and not have taken the food. I will not be ordering from here again.

First time visiting today, heard about this place from a friend. What a find. The Oxtail Stew is immaculate melt-in-your-mouth goodness.

I know jerk and oxtail jamican suppose to be better then this. I have made better food then this. The attitude was of dont bother me. As if I had to wait to order we would have walked out. Didn’t get stuff I ordered which now I know is a blessing. I really believe people in this area don’t know what good food is. Beside the bbq chicken that was suppose to be jerk. The oxtail with some kind of brown sauce and rice and “peas”. The plantain was ok ( but really how can you mess plantains up ). I look at it as a donation to this place. This making Jamican cooking look bad. Never again. Disappointing !!!!!
