Came in with high hopes for the food and left disappointed. The only dishes we liked were the prosciutto dish (largely assembled) and the tagliatelle with mushrooms and truffles, which we feel is a hard dish to get wrong.

My partner and I had the pleasure of eating at Mattina on their soft opening day. We ordered a black garlic scone, a Kale and mushrooms scone, a miso butterscotch cookie, a cheese and prosciutto biscuit, and a chicken curry biscuit. Everything we ate far exceeded our expectations and the staff was so kind and helpful. I look forward to eating here when they officially open!

Chef Matt has outdone himself. Mattina is the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I cannot highly recommend this spot enough – from the arancini to the bucatini to the charcoal grilled meats everything is perfect.

We went to opening night dinner service recently. That can always be a bit scary for service – but the service was excellent. The vibe inside is fresh and updated, comfortable seating. Lots of options on the menu that made it hard to choose from. We got the burrata as an app, two pastas, two salads, two entrees, and both deserts and shared between six people. Everything was very solid – I would recommend the branzino for sure. The pastas had unique flavors which I appreciated. Overall the entire meal was just hitting all the marks – couldn’t find anything to fault them on! We will be back 🙂

The coffee bar is really nice and exquisite. There are plenty of seating areas. Love their assortment of cookies and pastries especially the miso butterscotch cookie! This location used to be the Slanted Door and learned that it’s the same owners of SPQR. I’ll be returning back here again. It’s truly a hidden gem!

Although we were greeted and seated quickly. Not much else kept up with the speed or friendliness. Waiter just seemed tired and his heart was not into being hospitable. Perhaps because it was late in the day and working all day? The food was very visually appealing, but nothing to write home about. Suggest staying away from the brisket as it was extremely dried out. We were never checked on and just felt ignored, but seemed like that’s how all of the tables were. Overall not a positive experience.

Great new cafe! I can’t wait for the restaurant to open (5/13).

Looks cute. Walked in for lunch. Server asked us to sit outside for someone to come. Waited 10 minutes, nobody acknowledged us. A server for another table came out a couple of times, but didn’t approach us. We weren’t offered many menus. Maybe they were overwhelmed, hope they can manage to provide service.

Super cute café steps from Fillmore Street. I liked the interior and the open kitchen. Service is attentive, but a bit slow. Maybe it is because this is a new opening and they need more time to adjust. We had a salad and biscuit with prosciutto: both good. The dessert (ice cream sandwich) instead came out almost frozen: it was hard to eat and, I guess because it was too cold, it was tasteless.
