We always enjoy finding local restaurants during our travels. El Paraiso Taqueria is a hidden gem. It doesn’t look like much when you pull into the parking lot, but don’t let that turn you off! The food is incredible. It’s not your normal cookie cutter tex-mex meal. My husband ordered chicken enchiladas and I had the quesadilla meal w/shrimp. At first glance I thought they’d given me tacos instead – until I realized that they grilled a layer of cheese, filled that with shrimp, then put it into a tortilla with lettuce and tomatoes. My husband’s enchiladas included a topping of lettuce, potatoes, and carrots. I also had a side of their “corn in a bowl”. Not sure what was mixed in with the corn (maybe sour cream), but it was really good. Prices were extremely reasonable as well. Suggest you check it out if you are in the area near South Haven MI.

This place is really good! Tacos and quesadilla tastes authentic and the Mexican rice sooo well made! Sitting is classic booth style; they don’t serve besides bring you the dine-in order on a pretty blue China dish. However, tamale was kinda dry so wouldn’t recommend ordering that if you are a critical tamale fan. Otherwise, really good Mexican place in South Haven! (Ignore my half eaten taco, I was so excited I forgot to take a picture )

Not super friendly but, not rude service. I ordered the three tacos meal and the tacos were delicious! Plenty of meat, cilantro, & onion. The rice was good! More authentic than most places I’ve been. Beans were equally good! The only downside, no Margarita’s! But still well worth the visit!

The food was amazing! My family & I were raving about our food. First time in there and best place for eating out. I’ve never had anything better in my life. Great quality service and fast food. They also have a drive-thru, and you can text your order! Bright environment, too.

I’m normally pretty critical of Mexican food restaurants since I grew up on my mother’s cooking. So I’m genuine when I say that this is the best authentic Mexican restaurant I’ve been to.

This place is a gem. The tacos were some of the best I’ve had (I got the chorizo). The chips were extra crispy as well. The waitress was very friendly. It’s a small, inviting place with incredibly good food! If you are in the area or even if you are not; it’s worth a visit.

My husband and I had chicken quesadillas and chips and salsa. The quesadillas were amazing! We highly recommend them. They were more like a soft taco. The chips and salsa was fresh and delicious as well. Service was very accommodating and courteous.

So, some context, I’m incredibly picky when it comes to Hispanic food. I grew up near Chicago, and there was this little taco place I used to visit after school alone or with friends, and I haven’t found a place that has gotten anywhere close to how good their food was because no other Mexican food place has tasted anywhere near as authentic as the place back near Chicago was. At least not until I found this place el Paraiso has seriously amazing food, literally on the same level as my childhood taco place. Flavors are amazing, textures are wonderful, eating here took me back to walking down the street from my old high school chatting and joking with all my friends, sharing some horchata together, eating our food, talking about whatever gossip and drama going on or what homework we had to do for the day. It’s all very comforting and nostalgic. Also the interior of the place has a very similar vibe as the place in Chicago. Couldn’t recommend this place enough, I’ve been going here pretty much every week since we moved into town

Super friendly and helpful place. Wanted it to be great but the chicken enchiladas maybe didn’t have chicken in them. The proces were kind of high. The chicken fingers and fries were good. Get the steak or shrimp entrees.

My fiancee loves this place. Everything is good and just tastes good. She is Uber picky about any Hispanic food growing and being friends with an awesome family near chicago that made in her own qords the best tacos on earth, this is her new favorite place to eat and won’t stop asking every week to go back. Love it awesome place.
