After 4 years of helping other restaurants be successful in New Mexico and Texas, Roy Cassada seized an opportunity to open his own place in his parent’s and grandparent’s home town of Hobart, Oklahoma, at the ripe old age of 20! After running a wildly successful restaurant and catering business for 9 years in southwest Oklahoma, concerns about the Highway expansion encroaching on his business and a need to be closer to OKC for medical treatment for their daughter prompted Roy and his wife Stephanie (whom he married after she began working at the restaurant) to move their family (including 3 children at this point) to the Oklahoma City area and begin an insurance career. Roy built a hugely successful insurance agency on integrity, hard work

Best BBQ in the area! We had the chicken fried steak and the super potato. Both were so good with generous portions. Got the mashed potatoes and gravy with the steak and also the green beans, thinking they’d be like green beans in most other BBQ restaurants, but they were coated and fried and absolutely delicious!!! I’d order them as a meal! The staff is outstanding, the building is clean and rustic and the smells emitting as you get close are heavenly! Can’t wait to try their breakfasts!

We were vacationing in Woodland Park for 5 days. My wife picked Roy’s for her birthday dinner. We had chicken fried steaks and wow! They are large and delicious! You won’t leave hungry I promise. The Peach cobbler is too die for. Highly recommended.

Seriously the best bbq I’ve ever had. Mac and cheese was probably my favorite thing, the cheeses they use are the perfect combination! Onion rings had really good breading. DON’T FORGET DESSERT Y’ALL — they make their own ICE CREAM!!! It’s creamy and goes AMAZING with the peach cobbler. If you’re craving BBQ this is the place to go. (Sat on the patio and had an amazing view, 100000000/10 will be back). My husband had the brisket and he described it as smokey and tender. The blackberry cobbler was also amazing.

Not sure why these guys don’t have five stars. They have the best BBQ! Hands down THE best brisket I’ve ever had and I’ve had me a lot of brisket! We also very much loved their chicken, Mac and cheese and onion rings. Even their cornbread was delicious and moist! We were very happy with our decision to eat here tonight and we will most definitely be back again and again!

We’re so glad to see this place finally open up and to be a barbecue restaurant. After just one visit I can say it’s the best barbecue in town hands down. The barbecue brisket was amazing, moist and very flavorful. The fixings were good too. We had the macaroni and cheese the potato salad and the fried green beans were the bomb. We’ve already been back for a second time in less than a week. Don’t waste your time with that other place in town unless you just have to have a beer or mixed drink. But if you’re after good food, this is definitely the spot.

Great staff and amazing food! The workers were really nice and attentive, making sure we were taken care of. The food was absolutely delicious, and the portions don’t get me started! Me and my husband got the two meat and two side order. We have enough leftovers put together for today and tomorrow if we want! For the price, you are getting tons of amazing food. We will definitely have to come back to this family-run establishment, but make sure you come in hungry; you will get full quick off the homemade goodness!
