I usually like to go to this place to grab a burrito after getting off of a night shift and never have an issue. Today I ordered a breakfast burrito with chorizo, egg and cheese add potato at 10 am right when then opened, so not busy. I arrive about ten minutes later and the owner had my burrito on the counter. He tells me that he is running out of chorizo, and just added extra potatoes. I asked him did he have any other protein and he told me that he already made the burrito. Well then I guess I dont have the options? He then told me it would still be the same price even without the chorizo because of the potatoes. That really didn’t seem fair. So I paid and left but honestly didn’t seem right, so I called back and said I’m not happy with the burrito because on top of it not being what I ordered, it was burnt. The owner then said, “ohh I didn’t know you were like that”. I said if you went to a restaurant and ordered one thing and then gave you another and just told you to take it. You wouldn’t be happy. He then offered to make it how I wanted with another substitute but at that point, I didn’t even want him to keep my money. I returned back to get a refund and return the burrito. NO APOLOGIES from the owner. I would’ve truly appreciated even if he waited to make it until I got there so I could then choose something I wanted, or called me back even. I’m pretty sure I was the first order of the day, so the fact that he didn’t immediately offer to fix it or make another one was crazy seeing to the fact that no one else was there and he had the time. Really unfortunate because I did enjoy this place, but they definitely lost a customer.

Stopped here for breakfast tacos this morning while in the area and they were great! Wonderful homemade flour tortillas, delicious beans on the bean and cheese tacos, and we loved our quesabirria tacos!

Elbita’s is one of those places that you’re tempted to hide from others for fear that if the world finds out how good Oscar’s carnitas and green enchiladas are it’ll change. But Elbita and Oscar are just too awesome to hide! Seriously I know of no place with better – crispy on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside – carnitas. The green enchiladas with pork are just as amazing too. Even the aguas frescas are noticably fresher than most.
