My wife liked this place but I didn’t care for it, although the service was good. We decided to eat here because of the name Riverview. It did present a view of the river but the windows were very dirty with black stuff in the corners. In my opinion this restaurant is missing a great opportunity to take advantage of a river view. But maybe they don’t want to. It feels like a mom and pop shop that caters to regular locals. There’s nothing fancy about it. Very plain. Maybe I would have a better feeling about this place if I hadn’t chosen catfish from the menu. I was expecting it to be filleted but it was a cut in chunks which contained many small bones. I thought the hash browns were terrible. However my wife did like the catfish and said she would be open to visiting the restaurant again. If I did I would definitely choose something different from the menu.

We recently had a wonderful lunch at the Riverside . We all (4 of us) ordered the fried cod and thought it was delicious – the best we ever had. We liked the option to have a thick or thin batter (we all chose thin). The cottage fries and french fries were good too and they had some tasty beer on tap. Our table was by a window with a view of the Mississippi River. We plan to return for again this summer. We ate there last summer and it was good then too.

Great food good prices. The person who gave the 1 star does not know what they are talking about .

Great place, friendly down home place. Honestly if you’re looking for food network stuff, don’t go. If you want good down home cooking (made to order), friendly family type atmosphere then this is your place. Had breakfast there twice. Locals go there and are friendly and conversant! You will get some great local info and good eats.

Great atmosphere, excellent food at a reasonable price. Does not matter if you are there for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Rick and Brenda are the owners and treat you like family. Get a table to look out over the Mississippi River while enjoying your meal, you won’t be disappointed.

After asking several locals “Where is the best place to eat in town?” and finding the unanimous choice was the River View restaurant we gave it a go. And we weren’t disappointed. A true Mom and Pop joint, the service was warm, friendly and sincere. And the food was made in the same way. Good Americana food choices, well made and delicious. But the homemade Apple Cobbler was the real treat. (Made from the apples from Mom’s backyard) So good. Enjoyed them so much they sent us on our way with a complimentary bag of those apples! It was like a stop off at Grandma’s and Grandpa’s cabin on the river. Stop in and see for yourself.

I went here with my girlfriend. Rick and Brenda were very nice, the catfish was good and the cheese curds were good, but unfortunately that’s where the good ends. The fries, cheeseburger and garlic bread were very bad. The restaurant is very dated and not clean at all. My girlfriend got sick from the burger she ate. I wouldn’t believe all of these 5 star reviews you see here. If you look at the reviewers, they pretty much either give everything 5 stars, or the only review they have is of this place. Pretty suspicious.

Awful crummy food, rude people who work there. Waitress sat down next to me with her pad and pen waiting to write and staring at me when I told her I wasn’t ready to order. Food is terrible frozen boxed junk food. I had the fish sandwich. Not real bread, very little fish in the frozen then friend breaded patty. The best thing on the plate was a tiny slice of pickle. Do not believe these reviews. This is not real food and not a good experience.

We were sucked in by the pile of wood outside hoping to get some good bbq. Walked inside and could smell the smoke. Looked at the menu and there wasn’t any smoked food! The wood was for the woodburner heating the place! Catfish was good, I’ve never had catfish steaks before but they were good. Beer battered cod was great. T-bone steak was overcooked. Overall was a good stop on the river at a local business.
