The pizza quite frankly isn’t that good, it’s not terrible, but it’s a far cry from the title “Ankeny’s best pizza”. The pizza is the definition of average. They do have different options other than pizza, like chicken, but why buy chicken when they proudly boast that they do not offer ranch. The bread bites are bomb though.

It was another ordinary morning in Bear Nation. I sat there as my professor lectured us on the topic of Aristotelian rhetoric or something of the sort. I grew tired of the lesson and in my boredom, I checked the clock. To my dismay, my class time stood with 49 minutes remaining. My tummy began to tremble. I was famished. I wouldn’t last the remaining duration of my school day without sufficient sustenance. I opened my backpack to retrieve my lunch. To my utter devastation, the bag was empty. I rummaged through the bag twice more in despair. Reality set it. I had forgotten my lunch. I had never felt so alone. When I needed it most, hope had deserted me. By the time my class concluded, I was famished. Dazed by my lack of energy, I stumbled toward building five on the DMACC Ankeny campus (Go Bears). I entered the establishment. That’s when I saw it. Gleaming majestically in the distance was a light on the horizon. As I inched closer, it gradually took the form of a luminous sign that read: “LEANING TOWER OF PIZZA.” I ordered the day’s speciality flavour. I didn’t care to read what it even was. I was so starved, anything would do. The cashier bestowed to me three heavy pizza slice boxes. I opened one up. I nearly wept at the sight of it. It was an absolutely beautiful slice of bacon cheeseburger pizza. As I sank my teeth into the cuisine, my hope was revived, my faith was restored, and God smiled down at me from Heaven.

This place is an authentic throwback to the 70s and it is fantastic! The service is fast and direct. The pizza is thin and terrific. It is a great place for kids too.

It was very difficult to find! We tried to get delivery but we had ordered appetizers with our pizza. They said they could deliver pizzas but not appetizers. Too much hassle for very ordinary pizza.
