We ate at Papa’s during the evening on August 5. We had a large party of 14. It started out very pleasant, as we were seated immediately. However, when the tall brunette with a messy bun came to our table with menus, she literally “winged” them across the table at 2 of us. We remarked that it was rude, and her response was, “I’m your hostess, not your waitress.” As it turned out, our waitress exhibited a lot more polish & professionalism than the “hostess”. When the food came, all were served except 2. We were told it would be 5 minutes, as the kitchen was running behind. We ate, paid, and walked toward the door. At this point, the hostess bid everyone a good evening & remarked that she liked my shirt. Sorry, but that was too little & way too late, since she didn’t speak to anyone at our table during the meal. I’ll probably choose a different dining establishment next time.

Went there for Father’s Day so Dad could watch sports during lunch. The waitress was super friendly and attentive to customers needs. The tenderloin sandwich is the BEST I have ever had. Dad said the steak was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. They also had several local beer options. Will definitely stop in again when passing through Mason City.

they were a little busy when we arrived but was seated right away I thought the menu lacked a little on choices but saw a stir fry that looked good and thought i’d try the onion petals. Everyone else got a sandwich and fries with a side of cheese sticks. the onion petals were pretty good but the cheese sticks were a little bland. The sandwiches looked quite tasty and I tried the fries and they were very good and I’m not a french fry fan. As for my stirfry. i was a little put out that there was nothing that indicated the sauce was very spicy. I can stand some heat but it was all I could do to eat this. I will probably return someday but wont be getting stir fry. Service was quite good and prices reasonable

Food was not good. Hamburger is pre pattied with no flavor and over cooked. Cheese balls were decent but over cooked. COD was not good. The batter tasted like dohnuts. We won’t return again. Very cold in there and loud.

Good lunch stop. I was seated promptly and the waitress took my drink order. The main waitress was very nice and friendly. She recommend several options for what locals eat and I picked the French dip. Food came hot and ready to eat. The sandwich was very good and I highly recommend it. The stop was good and I would recommend a visit and this sandwich.

Food was good. The service was subpar, while I know that the service is slow due to short staffing, there were people who ordered after my table that got their food before we did and we had to ASK TWICE for our first and only drink refill (edit) and we finally asked ANOTHER server for a couple boxes and the bill.
