I’m from the East Bay and sometimes on my family’s outings to Santa Cruz we stop by this Straw Hat on our way home. We have a Straw Hat in my area, but this one seems better!! Pizza is always super good! Piled high with toppings. It also has table service and way more on the menu! Plus a full bar! I am always pleased when coming here.

Decided to check this place out as it was close to the hotel and a break from all of the excellent different Asian food I’ve tried in the area. I ordered takeout and got the pastrami hot hat sandwich with a side of fries, and added a side salad with ranch to the order. I arrived right at the time the system said my order would be ready, but had to wait another 5 minutes or so. The hostess/bartender was very pleasant and helpful and let me know the order was coming out of the oven. A few minutes later, she handed me my order and I noticed it was bagged up very nicely. Upon opening the bag at my hotel, I found every thing I ordered to be perfectly packed, with the hot food still hot and the salad cold and crisp. The sandwich was excellent, with lots of pastrami and melted (and still hot) cheese. The fries were still hot and super crispy, just like I like them. The side salad was reminiscent of old school Pizza Inn or something, and was simple yet fresh. For $17 including tax and tip, it was one of the better meals I have had in Milpitas. I guess I’ll have to try the pizza next!

Gotta say that i heard nothing but good things but they def owe me big time, there was a hair on the pickle that was wrapped up in aluminum foil. Hot hat was good tho. Kinda didn’t want to eat it but after inspection it seems ok. But Dayyyum fr. And couldn’t take it back, there were closed by time i seen it.

This is actually a PUB! Theres tons of sports on tv. The menu has a nice selection of burgers, pizzas, wings, and soups. I ordered the impossible burger and mozzarella sticks. Both were VERY FRESH. I enjoyed my first time here, you WOULD TOO!

I only come to this place for happy hour. The beers here are colder than ice and they have that orange flavor beer that’s awesome. Can’t remember the name lol. Great prices and nice bar area with TV’s to watch your favorite games.
