We ate here this morning for breakfast and we are very satisfied/happy/stuffed.. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs breakfast for $14 and it was substantial. The steak was tender and served topped with white gravy. The hash browns were the best on this planet; perfectly browned and crispy outside and moist and tender beneath. Yummy biscuit as well. My gf had a waffle, eggs and bacon and she highly complimented everything as well. if you find yourself in Emporia and it’s before 2pm enjoy a great breakfast here.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. The food was so good and the staff was very friendly… UPDATE… went there again, this time got lunch, I got the catfish. . It was delicious, my boyfriend got a hot beef sandwich… his was great also. We will definitely be going back……

Great value for very generous portions! The staff is always friendly and helpful – they have always made my parents feel like they are part of the family. The only reason I didn’t give a full 5-star rating is because they haven’t updated seating, tables, flooring, etc., in a very long time. It is a very quaint diner – noting else is quite like it! PS – they close at 2 PM, so don’t be late!

Funky and cool little main street diner in quaint Emporia, Kansas. Our server was so friendly, happy, and made wonderful suggestions. The “little mess” was a fun and very delicious option. The biscuits and gravy were yummy too!

I was in town last week for the Garmin unbound race. I decided to give this place a try one morning for breakfast. I ordered the country fried steak with gravy. It came with a side of eggs, hashbrowns, and a biscuit. This was some of the best country fried steak that I have ever had, the service was great as well. Definitely a must try if you are in the area.

Walked in at 9:55am. Wanted to order chicken strips dinner. Waitress said we are only serving breakfast. (They serve the lunch menu at 10 am.) She did not ask if I wanted to wait or just let me know. Ordered off the breakfast menu. Noticed online, they start serving lunch at 10 and ask to get my food to go. No silverware,napkins, or syrup was placed into the bag. So, I did not leave a tip. Had better breakfast from McDonald’s. Never again.
