At our Searcy, AR location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Coming from someone who had worked there for a year loved by all the customers and workers i was fired for not having my phone or keys due to a bad fight with my husband. They did not listen to anything I had to say and cut me losse anyway. I’m pregnant with a 4 year old with now no income to feed here or keep my roof over my head. Everyone there cares more about stepping out back and getting high then be inside. The boss Beverly is never there she runs off to do other things or complains the whole time she’s there. She has never closed the store with her workers the whole year I was there. I loved the store and everyone in it but after this how am I supposed to feed my child. Everything about this is wrong no one there cares about the other everyone just gossips. I had the worst day of my life and they know I have never no called no show. I was in a bad spot with no help nothing now I’m on my own with a 4 year old and a baby on the way and this is just cruel

There is occasionally that visit to a restaurant that stands out above the rest. I’m not sure if the management team was manning the fort or if this store is just a well oiled machine. From the minute I walked in the reception area was clean and inviting. The man with the headset that would normally be taking care of drive-through took my order because there was someone in front of me at the cash register. He did it quickly and I was paying with my credit card ,my food was up in the window before we finished the process. This means that the person on the line in the kitchen was listening so they can get a jump on the order. That was impressive. The food came out quick very very quick almost light speed. The food was hot, fresh and exactly what I ordered. I picked up my food and walked to the dining area and chose a booth. Made my drink and went to the restroom to wash my hands. The restroom was spotless and clean. The dining room was spotless and clean. Something else I love about Captain D’s is you can get your catch-up and condiments from a pump dispenser into a dish. I absolutely hate tearing open little packets of ketchup. At Captain D’s you don’t have to do that. I enjoyed my meal and left. I highly recommend Captain D’s of Searcy. I don’t eat fish every day, but when I do it will be Captain D’s seafood restaurant.

Food is great, and the employees are wonderful.. but yall really need to give some captain Ds an overall… every captain Ds looks like it is barely surviving on the outside. Looks ran down, and desperately needs some TLC… new paint.. somethin!

EDIT: Today (Monday, July 26 2021), my husband and I went to Captain D’s and bought an order to-go. A 2 pc chicken and 2 pc fish meal with fries and coleslaw. I have been eating at Captain D’s since childhood. I am extremely fond of their food. But the last few times, I’ve been very disappointed, with this time being the worst. The Searcy location has gone downhill a little. The staff is typically polite and prompt, but the food has not been good. I hate to leave negative feedback, and only do so when I deem it absolutely necessary.

My recent trip through the drive-thru for a combination plate was far from satisfactory. After placing my order I was asked to pull over and wait I knew I was in trouble then. 20 minutes later my order was brought out to my car I found the hushpuppies to be the worst I have ever had including those I’ve cooked at my own from scratch! These were extremely undercooked and flavorless. They were still nushy inside. The cashier was very courteous and professional. The location of this restaurant is horrible no turning lane in the road located near corner and traffic signal therefore could not get out of the parking lot for another 10 minutes. I will not be back to this location ever

Good food but my lobster rolls were made sloppy. And the roll isn’t even a roll. It’s their breadstick. I had to remake my 1 lobster roll. And we waited for about 20 minutes for our food and the were definitely not busy.

I ordered the 12pc Butterfly Shrimp Dinner with 2 sides, French Fries and Macaroni & Cheese. I was very impressed with the taste of the shrimp and the hush puppies! The hush puppies were PERFECT: light (not dense), perfectly cooked all the way thru & no big chunks of onion!! The macaroni & cheese was tasty & creamy. Unfortunately they were out of Key Lime Pie but the cheesecake was a good substitute. I’ll be sure and order the 24 piece Shrimp dinner NEXT time so I’ll have some leftover shrimp for a snack later!!

So fresh and yummy everytime! Coming down to visit family is always nice because I don’t get to eat this often up North because there are none near me. Indulgent yummy fish and best hush puppies! My kiddo loved the fries too and she’s ASD and picky about what fries she will eat.
