This is the second time eating at Mari Chuy’s, 1st time was at the Victorian Square location in Sparks and it was horrible all the way around, service and food. 2nd was here and it was hands down 100x better than the first experience. Service was excellent and food was amazing. We will definitely be back.

This is from a visit a couple months ago. Three words: Gourmet Rip Off. This new surrounding area is nice and upscale/yuppy’ish – had a DJ and couples, singles and families conversing, playing lawn chess and generally an upbeat, white-collar, festive atmosphere.

We went last night for dinner to celebrate my birthday! It was a nice dinner and they really cared about my food allergies. The server made sure to ask me questions before making it. I love that they have vegetarian options! I ordered the vegetarian molcajete and it was delicious. They also gave me a birthday shot! I love the art and the environment as well.

Our server brought out all three courses at the same time. Try eating your appetizers, salads and entrees all at once. The ceviche was ok, not enough chips. My seafood pasta was too spicy and the seafood was overcooked. The mussels were terrible.

The portabella mushroom hanging tacos were delicious. Also had elote that you could tell was right off the corn cob and so good. Service was the best in Reno. Owner and bar manager greeted me to make sure I was happy with everything which is rare in many restaurants. Atmosphere was fun with people enjoying the wide selection of tequila on the patio and at the bar.
