Had a great server named Grant. Sat out in the garden and got champagne and bites. The property is beautiful. Not crowded when we got there (Saturday around 4pm), but parking lot was full when we left. The only serve appetizers in the garden unless you can secure a proper table. There are only 2 out there. Highly recommend this spot for the drinks, food was so-so but we didn’t get to really explore the menu.

My husband and I showed up at Cottage Wine Bar, without a reservation on Friday at 6:50pm. We were seated indoors quickly; the pretty, outdoor patio was full. The restaurant was clean and was packed. We were seated at the last non-reserved table for two. The noise level was high but inviting. The restroom was clean and stocked. Our waiter described the special in detail. We ordered a cosmopolitan and a whiskey sour to start. Both were delicious and balanced but not as sweet as those typically served at most East Texas bars. I really enjoyed the whiskey sour! To start, we ordered a charcuterie board and a tomato bisque/house salad/grilled cheese sandwich. Both were spectacular! Recommended! (We did get sour merlot cheese, but it was replaced quickly.) The balsamic vinaigrette, on my salad, was sweet, thick and perfect. I will return for the soup, salad, and sandwich. It would be a perfect lunch! Two gnats buzzed our table, throughout our appetizers. The gnats were annoying but generally expected during our rainy, hot East Texas spring. Our filtered water was refilled promptly, and it tasted appealingly refreshing. I ordered a medium rare filet mignon, asparagus and potatoes as my entree. My husband ordered medium filet mignon alfredo, as his entree. Both steaks were utterly perfect. Recommended! We wanted the bananas foster for desert. It looked amazing! However, we were so stuffed that we brought home three to-go boxes. Next visit: bananas foster! Prices are appropriate for the quality of the food and service. Note: Check out the menu online, before you visit, if you are worried about prices (as several other reviewers seemed to neglect to do in advance and then took their assumptions about pricing out on the restaurant in their reviews). I wholeheartedly recommend The Cottage Wine Bar for a date night in Nacogdoches! It’s a much-needed addition to the Nacogdoches dining scene!

A friends son told us about this hidden gem in quaint Nacogdoches, Texas. It’s every bit of a secluded cottage setting with amazing food and decedent wine. We tried several items, wanting to taste everything on the menu! Our server, Vance, was friendly, helpful and perfectly timed our food so we could enjoy everything and not get full quickly. We’re sooo taken with The Cottage that we’re going back tomorrow! Stay tuned for more photos.

My husband and I had a fantastic brunch at the wine bar on Sunday. We had fabulous service from all the waitstaff. The meals were absolutely scrumptious, and the wine was excellent. The atmosphere and background music created a very relaxing vibe all around. We will definitely be returning again soon!

The walkway between the dining service and kitchen was unacceptable. Bar service was great. I voiced my concerns about a guy picking up food, “grapes” off the ground and continuing to eat them while he walked back and fourth from the dining room into the kitchen. He was bare handed. I enjoy eating out and I seen a lot of unsanitary mischief going on. I voiced my concerns and they kicked me out. Absolutely no professionalism at this establishment. Steaks shouldn’t be served by unsanitary discusting punks. Nobody has washed their hands. The kitchen had chaos with 8 people in the establishment. Go spend your money elsewhere. It should not take an hour to cook a fillet.
