This place is incredible, the beauty of the surrounding mountains is amazing. The people at this place are incredible, friendly and courteous I enjoyed the camping area ,the General store has many items that are sometimes forgotten. The food at the restaurant is very tasty and the meats are mostly smoked and prepared right there, very fresh. The self service laundry is helpful, coin operated. Showers are clean and roomy. I loved my experience .

This is exactly the place you are looking for when you want something other than a “factory outlet” or chain restaurant. The Dam Diner will give you wonderful service, excellent food, and generous portions. You’ll leave feeling content because you just got value for your hard-earned dollar.

I know they raise all their on meat used in the diner. I would like to know where they get their produce. It’s always fresh and tasty. I gave it 5 stars for atmosphere. That’s a stretch. This is a campground Diner. You can eat outside depending on the weather (you can have your dog with you on a leash if eating outside). Inside there is a mix of tables/chairs and picnic style bences. They have a good AC system so it’s always super comfortable inside. The food: I don’t eat chicken fried anything so can’t comment on that. Every thing else is way above average. The owners are very nice as well as the wait staff. The vanilla bean ice cream is number 1. This place is in the middle of nowhere so if you are not in the Chama area it’s a bit of a drive. If I am craving a cheeseburger I will go here rather than Chama. The drive is about 20 minutes to either one from my cabin in Los Brazos. I feel this place is a real jewel here in central far north New Mexico.

The only option to eat here in El Vado by the river. The people are nice and the service was excellent. We had the steak which was a great choice and the dam Burrito which was seasoned well. The salsa for the chips was a bit bland but overall the atmosphere was nice. The TV was a nice distraction on the wall seeing as there is no internet service by the river. Kids took to it right away.

No love for Valentine’s Day! Steak and shrimp and fries. No offer of vegetables no other sides offered besides the included salad. If you consider iceberg lettuce and a few shredded carrots with one tomato a good salad. Oh, by the way, no shrimp served with the steak and shrimp plate. That was some how left out, but we were charged for it! That wasn’t forgotten. The steak was so thin that you just look at it and it’s overcooked. I asked for medium rare and received well done. Not that it was inedible, I’ll give credit in that it was seasoned well and tasty. We ordered two desserts for our friends and they were never served to them, plus they got charged for the four they actually ordered, no mention of us having paid for two already. Chicken tenders were a bit overdone, onion rings too greasy, and the Alfredo lacked seasoning so it was pretty bland. Asked the waitress for a wipe down cause we felt crumbs on our table and she scoffed at us saying “It’s already clean, but I’ll do it again.”

This is a great place to eat, rest and relax. We were a party of 9 this past weekend, making our way to Pagosa Springs. It just happened that all the places in Cuba were closed. We had three vehicles and trailers, there was plenty of parking available out front.

The food is wonderful. The staff is excellent. The burritos were awesome. They make all of their meats in house and it shows.
