Coming to Lilia is a tradition when we visit Brownsville with the family. The food is usually delicious however, this time the food we had ordered did not have any flavor, and the Torta my husband ordered was drenched in oil and flavorless. Perhaps there was a change in cooks but neatness to say we didn’t return when usually dine here two or three times during our stay.

I personally go there with my wife for the tortas specifically and they are pretty great. The speed of service could be slightly better though. The restaurant has pillars throughout the space which make the seating/tables really janky and crowded.

Stopped by to eat when visiting Brownsville to take in a little nostalgia of the place that has crossed the border and carried on with the menu of the little place on calle sexta in Matamoros. A bit disappointed. The lemonade is not freshly made. The rolled tacos/flautas had so little meat that all six barely made one good one. That’s for the , but no thanks!
