During our stay on HHI, this was the best food we have had! (And probably one of the best meals we’ve had in our life). We had the lentil soup, beef goulash and the special of the day, pork shoulder over potato stew. We got the Apple delight for dessert. If you get anything, PLEASE get the potato pancakes with applesauce. It is unbelievable. Our server Janos was amazing. He was super nice and attentive. This place is a MUST try.

My photos don’t do the food justice. But this was a great surprise to find European food on the island as a fun change. Very delicious. I could hear the chef Temmi pounding the weinerschnitzel in the back kitchen so it was made on the spot to order. The cold sour cherry soup was a refreshing childhood memory. The waiter was very kind. Would highly recommend.

This place is one of Hilton Head’s best kept secrets. If someone told me you could get Hungarian comfort food on the island, I would have thought they were joking. But it’s true, Taste of Europe is about as good as you can get here in the states. Hungarian charcuterie had a wonderful mix of cured meats and cheeses. The jaeger schnitzel was so tender you could cut it with a fork. The sauce was perfectly rich and creamy. The stuffed cabbage had an excellent mix of spices and the sausage had an excellent balance of fat and meat. We even loved the semi-sweet dessert roll. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for something outside of the normal American lowcountry cuisine. We will certainly be back to try the other dishes.

Very authentic European and Hungarian food. Friendly staff and great food specials. They are doing everything right. Everyone is looking for seafood on the island but I highly recommend adding this unique restaurant to your list of places to visit on Hilton Head Island. The home style cooking is great. I dare you trying the Schnapps as a digestive after dinner.

look like much, so much so you might even not want to eat here. That was our dilemma when we discovered it, but we decided authentic European fare was a nice change of pace from all the seafood on our trip. In classic European fashion, it took a long time to finish our meal, but totally worth it. The jagrschnitzel was perfectly cooked. The beers and wine and food and desserts were all worth waiting for, amazing food!

What an amazing restaurant. Hungarian waiter and chef/owner. Very unique beer list – we tried the Ukrainian and Lithuanian beers – they were fantastic. Chicken paprikash crepe and deviled eggs appetizers. For entrées we had Roast a la brasov, sausage stuffed pork loin, and goulash. Everything was fantastic!!!!

Sauerkraut soup a true old world flavorful experience! Kohlrabi stuffed with Turkey and rice amazingly robust and deliciously creamy, even though the chef made a special dairy free sauce for me! Stuffed cabbage rolls were the best we’ve ever had!

The food at Taste of Europe was delicious and very fresh. I had Wienersnitzel with spaetzel dumplings (and paprikas sauce) and red cabbage. Everything was awesome. My husband had Jägerschnitzel with the same sides (with mushroom gravy). The desserts were big and delicious. I had a cake with custard and chocolate sauce and my husband had fresh crepes with honey walnut filling and chocolate sauce. The service was outstanding. Our waiter Jonas was friendly and professional. We even told the chef how delectable everything was. Our meals were freshly prepared. We will definitely go back.
