Wow! We were looking for a restaurant off the highway for a good meal as we travelled to New Jersey. We found this place and decided to try it. The chips and salsa were delicious. The menu was varied and colorful with images of their most popular dishes. I settled on the Torta, one of my favorite Mexican sandwiches. Service staff was cordial and polite. When my food arrived, it was warm, generously-portioned, and delicious! The ingredients were fresh, the presentation was nice, and the flavor profile was familiar with what I expected but better with their take on the sandwich. The meat was seasoned well. The bread was grilled to perfection. Every aspect of the meal and every single detail was perfect. My two buddies also greatly enjoyed their meals too. You better stop off and get some top-tier Mexican if you are in the neighborhood!

My wife and I enjoy good Mexican food. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you are greeted and escorted to a table. Someone else brings you chop and fantastic tasting thick salsa. Your drinks are kept full and your food arrives at the table quickly. Would highly recommend El Ranchero Mexican Restaurant..

We (mom and I) traveled from Gaithersburg MD this morning and decided we wanted to give this restaurant a go. We had an AMAZING experience!!! The food, staff and management were so attentive, helpful and professional….we were blown away! A special thank you to Liz who took great care of us!!! Thank you Liz!!! You are a true gem!!!! We also want to recognize the other team members and manager who stopped by to check on us!!! Really great service!!! What a great dining experience!!! This restaurant is proof that the industry could serve affordable food if they wanted to. The food here was great, the portions generous and the prices reasonable. We ate well for the same price as I just paid for a mediocre fast food meal. The service was outstanding, prompt and friendly. When this place opened, I thought “oh no, not another Mexican joint!” Now, I’m glad they opened as they are the best of the four. I will definitely be back soon.

Came down to Dahlgren for work. Realized we had sparse dinner options. Thankfully one of our customers suggested El Ranchero. The prices were VERY reasonable, especially for the amount of food you get. We had 7 people in our group and every single person enjoyed their meal. I ordered the seafood burrito and it was STUFFED with shrimp, scallops, and tilapia. It was so big I could only eat half, and I love to eat.

Management needs to work on the cleanliness of the restaurant. They had flies all in the bathrooms. The male urinal that is out of service, cover it up, and tape it off. Don’t just let that nasty water soak in there to smell up the room. Make sure there is soap for customers to wash their hands. Floor was very slippery throughout the restaurant.

Overall good experience, service was excellent but the dining room could use a little updating and some music. The main dishes were well executed but the chips were bland and the queso was runny. There is currently no liquor license here but they do offer imported Coca-Cola, which is awesome.
