Great little place in Chapel Hill!! Menu has many interesting and creative dishes. Sat at the bar with a friend, we tried many dishes. For starters, Lamb Belly, Crispy Pig Ears, and Tonno Tonno. Course Two: Tortellini & Summer Truffles and Rabbit Something Pasta. So good!! Course Three: Octopus and Lobster Pot…..we enjoyed them all! Menu is a little on the rich side but I Love that so…:) Service at the bar was attentive and friendly. We will be back!

A small and quaint setting with delicious food! The meat balls and tinned fish for appetizers were outstanding. The lobster and mahi-mahi ravioli should include a slice-or-two of bread to capture the tasty sauce. The octopus dish was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Courteous staff and prompt service. Parking on premises. Indoors and outdoors seating. Reservations advised. Highly recommended

This is the former location of my favorite restaurant in Chapel Hill, and some part of me was hoping the replacement would be terrible so I could complain. Sorry to say, Bombolo is excellent! I went twice, once for dinner and once for brunch, and my only substantive complaint is that the serving size for brunch was, incredibly, too large. The pasta in particular was very well-executed and my cocktail was fantastic. I will no doubt be returning when I’m next in Chapel Hill, though I will continue to complain about the closure of Kitchen.

We’ve been on the hunt for our favorite Italian restaurant since moving to the triangle. We’ve found it! My litmus test is if the noodles that come out are still Al dente, and these were. You can tell they make everything homemade and it was all awesome. The menu changes pretty quickly which allows you to try quite a few things. We loved the pig ears, tagliatelle, bread pudding. Full bar was much appreciated as well.

It was a 5.5/10, wouldn’t come back. Portions are small considering how much each plate is. It’s not like the plates are particularly well plated either, my guess is the price tag comes from fresh ingredients which is great, but not if your dishes do not highlight the natural flavors of the seasonal ingredients. The food was okay but the service by the waiter was absolutely horrendous. Hands down the worst service I have ever experienced in the Triangle, and I have been yelled at by workers at the Durham Cookouts at 2am. I’m not sure if I or my group didn’t “fit” their ideal costumer look or vibe but it felt like we were begging for service. We still tipped because as far as I could find they are not living wage certified and we are not monsters.

Really enjoyed our visit tonight. We sat at the bar and were taken care of excellently by Liz, whose drinks were fantastic and whose conversation was even better! We had the tuna and asparagus appetizers, the fried chicken and rigatoni amatriciana entrees and the Bombolo for dessert. Everything was prepared with care and we enjoyed every bite. We will definitely be back!

I truly adore Bombolo and could not be happier that they have decided to bless the Chapel Hill food scene with some much needed imagination and quality. The menu changes constantly which ends up giving me a sustained state of FOMO. I can’t quit the pasta. Just can’t. The small plates are always inventive and delicious. The best way I can describe the menu is that it is elevated international comfort food. This small neighborhood gem is well worth a visit, and then a repeat visit. Seriously.

We savored every bite of our dinner at Bombolo! Based on the reviews and good press, we knew the food would be outstanding. It definitely delivered on big, bold flavors. We loved the BBQ shrimp, halibut, roast chicken, and octopus. The cocktails were delicious and the mood was really fun and energetic. The Bombolo signature dessert was the perfect finishing touch. We can’t wait to go back to sample more of the menu!

Went there for brunch today and the food was fantastic. Had the Migas with a curry twist to it and as an appetizer we had the mac & cheese and piri piri chicken fingers. This is by far the best piri piri sauce I’ve had. Within our party we also had good coverage of the entire brunch menu such as the Tonno Tonno, fried chicken, fettuccini alfredo, and shrimp & grits and all of it was excellent fine dining quality. Will most def come again when I visit Chapel Hill again.
