This was my first time eating Thai food, and it did not disappoint. Everything I got was very reasonably priced, especially considering the portion sizes. The food itself was delicious (the picture of what I got is Ladna with Chicken). The waitress was very polite and attentive. The restaurant has a nice calm, quiet atmosphere and the chairs were fairly comfortable.

Horrible food and bad customer service! I Ordered a beef drunken noodle dish and when it came out, it had a overpowering and horrible sour smell. Good food should smell good! Shouldn’t smell like you think you might get food poisoning if you eat it. I also asked my friend to smell it to see if it was just me and She agreed it had a funky smell. I asked the waitress to see if I could get the same dish but maybe with a different protein because it smelled horrible. The owner comes out looking disappointed as if I’m about to scam her for free food. She doesn’t even greet me, just asks to see what the problem was like she’s had the same problem before. I told her that the food had a weird smell to it and if I could maybe get a different protein but same dish. She then said she bought the meat earlier in the morning at food lion and that even if I was to get the same dish it’s the same ingredients. She proceeds to tell me I would have to pay for both, the bad smelly one and the new one. To that response, I just said forget it. I’m not going to deal with this. Why should I have to pay for potential food poisoning? She Didn’t offer anything else for something I couldn’t and wouldn’t eat because the smell was so bad. Went to dinner with my friend to not even eat! Then they avoided our table the rest of our stay and I so desperately wanted them to remove the dish because it smelled horrible!! Horrible service!

My elderly mother and I were visiting from Asheville, over an hour away. I eat plant based. We arrived to a very warm welcome and were so happy to patronize a family owned establishment. The service and food were excellent and a refreshing attitude. You can tell this restaurant wants you to return. I wish it was where we live. Prices are ridiculously reasonable for quality food and service. Decor is nicely done. You could eat the junk at McDonald’s, right outside, for a similar price, or you could go to Thai Lotus and get some real, nutritious and freshly prepared tasty food. I haven’t seen my 87 year old mother finish her plate anywhere in at least 15 years. If the kitchen hadn’t been closing after our late arrival, she was considering ordering another meal to take home. I highly recommend Thai Lotus. You can’t beat the food and especially the value. If I’m in Hickory again, I’m a repeat customer guaranteed. Bravo!

This is a great place for Thai food. Large menu to choose from. The food comes out super hot and fresh. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. Fast service. Clean restaurant. I highly recommend stopping by this place. Affordable pricing as well. The bathrooms are in need of some repair. We will definitely be back.
