This little diamond in the rough was recommended to us. We loved everything about this restaurant. The staff, the atmosphere and most importantly the food! It was outstanding. The food & beverage options are excellent & meets the desires of any age, any pallet. The place was packed as we got there around 6pm. We sat at the bar for about 20 minutes but it went by quickly. The bar staff is very personable. The price is worth every penny. You can absolutely tell the chef takes great pride in the quality and creativity of every dish served. We will absolutely go again & would absolutely take family & friends.

The food was amazing, the service was great. I highly recommend the Show me your tots appetizer and Garlic soy salmon. The most remarkable… the host, Lillian. She was very personable and took genuine interest in our experience

Great old building. It was a little crowded on a Saturday evening and we sat at a bar. Be prepared to wait a little if you go on Friday or Saturday. Trent makes an amazing old-fashioned. Best I’ve had in MI so far and no mushed up fruit. I tried the ahi nachos and the Nashville chicken sandwich. Best I’ve had in a long time. Amazing food and service. Great atmosphere and very reasonable prices.

We visited Michigan from Pennsylvania in June and chose to drive 100 miles from where we were staying and spend the day in Alpena because of this restaurant (the local tourism board should take note). Our family has celiac disease and must eat a gluten free diet. Restaurants with gluten free options are an instant attraction to us. This restaurant blows away just about any big city restaurant in Pennsylvania whether you order gluten free or not. We were not disappointed. We want to try the courtyard seating time.

Busy place on a Saturday night, but great restaurant. Very cozy atmosphere and friendly bartenders. We ate at the bar because we had bad experience at the Palate and were starving as it was getting later. No wait. Wait time for the table was long but expected. I had chicken Ceasar salad, which was outstanding, considering its a salad. My husband had soy shrimp, and he loved it. Recommend stopping here.

We had cocktails, an appetizer, and entrees and they were all fantastic! It was hard to decide what to eat from their diverse menu, everything sounded great. Service was a little slow but they were apologetic and very polite. Despite it being a weeknight the place was packed with happy patrons!

The best food I’ve eaten in a long time!! Ordered the Shoe Me Your Tots, PB&J Fashioned, Meat Platter, and Get In My Belly! All so very good. I hat the Get in My Belly – pork belly tacos with bbq and corn salsa. Such a perfect flavor combination.
