Ripa’s Italian Restaurant Menu – Lancaster, NY

Type : Italian restaurant

Location : Lancaster, NY

The Ripa family comes from the Marche region of Italy . . . a resort region on the Adriatic Sea known for its great food. Harry Ripa, founder of Ripa’s Restaurant opened his first business in the late 1940s on Main Street in Depew where he became known for his superb baked stuffed shrimp. In 1953, Harry purchased an old school house, which is our present location, and renovated the building. In 1955, he opened as Ripa’s . . . his “Dream–come-true”! The gondola and zodiac signs you will see on the walls were hand molded by Uncle Harry and his good friend, Giovanni Ferrantino, and continue to be a major part of the décor.

A very spacious, clean, and comfortable Italian Restaurant with great menu items for anyone. Upon entry (4:30pm reservation) the lighting appeared as though they weren’t seating, yet. However, we were greeted and taken to sit at our table right away. Once in the dining area, the lighting was just right. Within minutes a pleasant server, Sandy, took our drink orders and gave us ample time to ponder over the menu. We enjoyed a carafe of wine, a beer, and our water glasses were kept refilled nicely. Beginning salads with a house creamy Italian dressing were delicious and perfectly portioned. The soup of the day was a turkey noodle and I was told it was a tad on the salty side. Our plates included: BAKED LASAGNA which was a good size portion for a hungry man, to-the-tooth pasta, beef, pork, ricotta, topped with meat sauce and mozzarella cheese, and baked to a perfect golden brown. Char-broiled (double) PORK CHOPS which tabled on a sizzling hot platter. Thick cut and marinated with a fantastic flavor of house seasoning! We ordered a double enabling us to take the 2nd piece home for another dinner. However, there is so much meat I took home 1 1/2 chops! Ripa’s correctly claims to have the Most Popular Pork Chops in WNY! Cannot wait to have the left-overs! The side small-red baked and cut in half potatoes, and applesauce made for a very enjoyable meal. FETTUCCINE ALFREDO was to-the-tooth noodles in a very flavor full creamy homemade sauce and the portion was good for a hungry man, as well. FRENCH ONION CHICKEN was two beautiful cutlets sautéed perfectly in sherry wine with caramelized onions,

Been going here for 4 years now. The food is amazing and portions are large. If you prefer smaller portions they do offer half portions on some items. The owners and bartender are very nice. Relaxing atmosphere. Very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend! Pics of some of my favorites.

The pasta with peas and ham in lemon cream sauce were outstanding. Sandy, who served our party of seven, celebrating the 29th anniversary of dear friends, was excellent and helped make the night warm and fun. Tony at the bar handled our special arrangements with a smile. Well done in every way.

We received a gift card from friends and used it this evening to celebrate our 29th anniversary. Everything was delicious. Our waitress Sandy was amazing!! The host was nice enough to take pictures for us. We loved the decor, the music was delightful!! What a wonderful experience it was for us. We will definitely be back.

food was decent but portions way too small. I paid $25 for linguine and a meatball. There was not even enough for a child. I have never seen spaghetti portions so small. Meal comes with soup or salad. I got their french onion soup which was good but charged full price for it. Not worth the price of $32.

The food and atmosphere were really great. But the waitress who kept talking her mask off every time she spoke to me was upsetting. I will not go back until the pandemic spread is not so bad again.

We have lived in the area for three years, and we finally decided to check it out. I wish we tried it out earlier than we did because the food was great! Highly recommended thevpork chops!
