First time trying this restaurant- the food was fresh and delicious- I had the shrimp rolls and sweet and sour chicken and both were delicious! If you are in West Stockbridge I’d recommend stopping in for a great meal.

Exquisite hospitality and kindness shown by the owner. Her attention to detail and care with everything she does is expressed in her delicious authentic food. She takes immense care with my food restrictions and is one of the only places I feel safe eating out. Truc is a true testament to her long standing family business that continues to thrive and be an active part in our community here in West Stockbridge.

Update: I originally left this review to express my disliking to how the owners treat other businesses in this town. Since posting, the owners have since found my personal portfolio website, and threatened me via an email submission. They are absolutely unprofessional, and have harassed me over a simple Google review. This lends more evidence to how awful they are as people, and I can only hope their business doesn’t last much longer.

I’m spoiled. I love great Vietnamese food, which is plentiful in San Francisco. Having just moved here, I was blindsided by the culinary talent at Truc Orient Express. This restaurant is a gem in The Berkshires that is deserving of all five stars. Try the Vietnamese pancake–it’s all that it should be–crispy, fresh and filled with fresh produce and shrimp. The sauces are fabulous and the desserts are to die for. If you have an opportunity to meet the owner, say hello. She and her staff take great pride in their work ad know their customers on a first-name basis. I can’t say enough good things about how lovely the food is and accommodating and kind the staff are at delivering a memorable first class dining experience.

I cannot believe there are negative reviews here. This restaurant is a gem: a family-owned Berkshires institution that offers delicious, healthy food at fair prices. The owner has always been kind and gracious toward me. TOE is an asset to the West Stockbridge community and Berkshire county. Highly recommended!

We got the happy pancakes, lemongrass tofu, and spring rolls and loved all of it—the pancakes especially are a must-try. The owner was generous to fit us in on short notice. Highly recommended!

We come out to the Berkshires every summer and Truc is always a highlight. Google Maps seems to be the cause of some difficulty, as they had incorrect hours for the restaurant (now removed). Testimony to how good the food is here, you need to order takeout a day in advance!

One of the great restaurants of my life, over the 28 years my family has been coming to Truc this truly family owned restaurant, with modern authentic Vietnamese food, the loveliest extended family running the place and the calming, elegant dining room and one of a kind gift shop has been a highlight of summer in the Berkshires. When I speak to my grown kids, now living all over the world and they say they’ve been to a Vietnamese restaurant I always ask “how was it?’ and they say “its no Truc!” lol. Happy they were open for takeout during the pandemic. Thanks Luy, Truc and family for being such a big part of our family traditions.

Excellent meal. When we arrived we were told they were short-staffed. As the restaurant was fairly crowded, we expected to have our order delayed and to experience slow service. This wasn’t the case at all, as the staff worked extra hard to get everything right. We had delicious vegetarian starters and entrees. Highly recommend this place.

We chose this restaurant while looking for a place to have lunch in West Stockbridge. Their website said they were open until 3 pm and there was signage to the restaurant, but once we reached the entrance famished, wet from rain and anticipating a great Vietnamese meal, we found a car table across one entrance and a second entrance was open. There were no notes or information on the state of the restaurant. When we reached the door it said “there is no entrance to this building” and a rude owner (likely owner) yelled at us saying were trespassing. There was no warning anywhere that the restaurant was closed or an explanatory note. This restaurant just gave themselves a bad name. .
