Aloysius Murphy & The Ubiquitous Experience
Visiting from Florida, my friend takes me to this place. Said they have the best sandwiches in NJ. Bold statement I thought, so let’s give it a shot. He wasn’t lying. The Soprano sandwich, which is what I got, was out of this world. The man behind the counter made a joke saying that the only thing about that sandwich I should know, is when I finish it, I’ll be able to speak Italian. Might not be able to do that but for a moment I felt like I was actually eating food over there. Every time I come back to NJ I’ll be getting a sandwich here. Do yourself a favor and eat here.

Great old school Italian deli, not much more you can say. Do yourself a favor and get one of their sandwiches and some fresh mozz. You won’t regret it

Family’s been going here for 3 generations, and for good reason. Fresh cold cuts, fresh baked bread every day, homemade mozz, so many imported products from Italy. You’ll walk in wanting something and walk out with that plus 4 other things. Voted best deli in NJ multiple times, and it’s well deserved. This is a must visit if you’re in the area, a neighborhood staple that many hope will stay forever.

I come here nearly weekly, sometimes twice a week. It’s unassuming from the outside but gives an old school Italian vibe once you’re inside, including the family run staff knowing their customer’s by name and order. I tell everyone to try this deli!

I never post reviews but it was a must. Walked in at 5:44 pm tonight to grab a lb of fresh Mozz and some stuffed peppers. There was a gentleman mopping and I said oh sorry don’t wanna get the floor dirty and this guy from out back said oh because we’re closing. I said umm door says 6pm – he gave me a look like {well we wanna close} and then asked me, oh ‘what are you trying to get?’ Instead of leading with that. Such a shame – this spot was a fav for me for these small delicacies. Def won’t ever give my patronage to this establishment again. Get off your high horses and be kind and of service to ALL customers.

Great business & people! Ordered a few turkey subs & you can taste the quality & freshness. Awesome location on central avenue & a well known staple of the city! Highly recommend coming for a quick take out if you want true Italian service & quality.

i truly love andrea, it is exactly what you want your local spot to be. i get the soprano (but with sweet peppers instead of sundried tomatoes, so good!) and the pete’s special tuna. we also often order the antipasto platter with mozzarella to bring with us when we are invited to other people’s homes for holidays/etc, it is always a hit and so much easier than cooking an appetizer myself. any day i visit andrea is a good day!
