Good place to grab some good chicken, cafeteria style. We really enjoyed talking to the staff and/or owners (lot of pride to not be part of ownership) Bone-in and chicken tenders. Options for one or more sides. I’d like just a bit more spice on the chicken, but it was good, probably just right for most. We had a two-piece with one side, a roll, and a drink for $24.

Asked if chicken livers were available, was told they were. Ordered two liver dinners and a chicken dinner. Got the chicken dinner immediately. Waited. Waited. Waited. 15 minutes later, I asked how much longer for the chicken livers and was told there were none. Got a refund but pretty certain I didn’t get back as much as I had paid (my fault). If you’re going there, make sure you only order what they already have out in plain view. Was told the food was really good but how would I know? Left and won’t be back.

I went for take out Wednesday, June 8 around 3 pm. I got chicken fingers, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes & gravy for 4 people. The price w tax was $45. Everyone agreed the chicken was very good, crispy and juicy. The beans and Mac and cheese had been on steam table for several hours. Mashed potatoes and gravy instant. If the bland sides were made fresh it would have been a great take out meal.

Rode past on November 15 2018 and noticed the packed out parking lot and the neon open sign, having been closed for the past couple of months excited we quickly went up the road and turned around at Piggly wiggly which is where we were originally headed to see if they had a deli with fried chicken. Went inside and ordered some fried 3 piece dark meat with a side of campstew. The chicken is delicious! But that campstew of theirs is outta this world. Unlike a lot of places that get a couple of cans of castlebury Brunswick stew and add some canned corn and shredded pork to it this campstew seems all original with thick chunks of meat, potatoes and tomatoes that aren’t pureed into some type of pulp that resembles something you would feed hogs, it also has a slight smokey flavor that’s not to overpowering but just right. The campstew will be my first choice for future visits especially with the cold of winter setting in. As for the cheeseburger it’s great, the sauteed onions really kick it up a notch
