Best Indian food in Iowa City/ Coralville but the owner cooks everything so sometimes he doesn’t take orders or wait could be at least 20 mins. The wait is worth it and his beef gyros, tandoori chicken, chicken 65, butter chicken, nan, chole-bature, samosa are very good

We ordered catering portions (we picked up) from Bollywood Grill for a family event. We received generous portions of food and everything was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the butter chicken, lamb korma, samosas, and (of course) naan! The order was ready at our agreed upon pickup time. We had a great experience and will be ordering from Bollywood Grill again soon!

I LOVE Indian food. It is probably my favorite cuisine, and I would happily eat it every week for the rest of my life. Bollywood Grill opened early summer of 2020, and for the first 6 months, I got take-out almost every week. Now I’m going less often to save money, but if I could, I would get the food all the time. It’s that amazing.

If you’re looking for a proper dine-in experience then this place is short of that. However they are more of a to go order or sit wherever you can find a seat in the mall type place. Of course they have a few seats right next to it for your convenience. Besides this they have good vegetarian and non-vegetarian options for their to go menu. Our server/chef was really accommodating as well. We initially ordered Dal Makhni but it wasn’t available at that time of the day, so the chef recommended us Malai Kofta instead and it came out really tasty and good. Their garlic naans are crazy tasty, plus the chicken Karhai felt like home made. Even the rice had some flavor to it which everyone enjoyed to its fullest. For an Indian palette you’d love the food here. I’m definitely coming here again.

If this place closes down I will NEVER forgive Iowa City. This is the best value restaurant in Iowa City (maybe in all of Iowa) PERIOD. I will never not want to eat here. The service is fantastic. The food is delicious. The prices are great. The owner is adorable. Literally perfect.

This is pretty good Indian food at a really good price point. It’s not often that I can eat dinner for $12 and not being able to finish it all. I would question that some of the items are listed as “ready to eat” and some require preparation. Many of the items ready to eat are only so after around 20 minutes. Call before if you’re planning on blocking the bike lane to get your take-out. I had Peri Peri Chicken (actually a Portuguese thing, I thought) but food is surely fusing. It was almost perfect with rich. The onion somozas I got as a side were good too. This place deserves to survive downtown. I noticed the only person working the place was a very tall Indian man who also used to work at an earlier indian takeout place. Probably the guy who is described as indifferent. I’ll bet he has some reasons to be indifferent but it doesn’t seem to change the food

Do yourself a favor and don’t order the Mango Lassi. When my husband and I arrived, the place was empty. That should have been our first red flag. There were two workers who both gave us the impression they had better things to do than take our order. The worker was eating right before taking our order and we didn’t hear him wash his hands before making our drink. The drink itself was warm (not exactly what you want in a dairy based blended drink). 1/10.

Please don’t waste your time they do not serve anything from their menu. I went two different time both time i walked away without food. Second time they had sign for open but the guy told me they are closed for another hour. I went back after an hour every thing I try to order they didn’t have it available.

had a very nice tofu makhani with rice. Excellent flavor, very well made. If I had one gripe it would be the there could have been more vegetables!
