Gwen’s is a typical small town small business restaurant. Had a small breakfast buffet, and a limited breakfast menu. However if there was something that you wanted all you had to do is ask and they probably would have it or make it for you. My wife and I have biscuit and gravy which I would give 2 Stars not that it was terrible it was just not the way that we would have made it. Does serving size on everything was big. My kids both had pancakes which were rather thick and fluffy and about the size of a dinner plate. They both said the pancakes were very good.

Found it very easy. Plenty of parking. The buffet was wonderful. A great variety to choose from. The coffee was good…..something that is very important to my husband and myself! The owner, Gwen, came up and introduced herself. Everyone was very friendly and made us feel very welcome! We will definitely go back and will highly recommend it!

The food and service are amazing. I’ll be honest though, the place needs a deep cleaning and updating. I didn’t have my hopes very high once I walked in, but was very wrong. I’m glad I didn’t use the bathroom until after I ate. Maybe it’s the water in the area, but the toilet didn’t look like it’s had a good scrubbing in years. (Not fun when you have a 3yo but who insists on touching things and standing too close.)

This is a place of pure nostalgia for me. The food is most if not all “home made”. Last I checked a buffet is offered at least daily. The buffet is like a home cooked holiday dinner at a family gathering. Service is pleasant and attentive. The dining room is well kept classic, and whimsical with high ceilings and many nostalgic decorations. Last time I was there Gwen was still running the show. I see the place is for sale. I hope the new owner manages to preserve this wonderful place. As far as I’m concerned Gwen’s is the crown jewel of Lisbon and a place that makes Lisbon a destination.

Saturday morning buffet has good selection of food. The staff there keeps the food in the buffet well stocked with hot well prepared items. The waitresses are prompt with juice water and coffee and keep the coffee cup full. Buffet cost and tip will hit you up for about $10.00. Excellent value.
