I was skeptical about this place because it replaced White Dog, best wings around. Didn’t know that they folded the white dog wings into their menu. Went there today and confirmed that they are the same delicious wings from before. Food was great! Service was great. Bartender was literally standing next to me the moment I walked in ready to serve. No Football specials, hopefully they change this. Had a pumpkin stout beer, 8% alcohol, tasty and put me on my butt. Highly recommend the wings and this place overall. Nice spread of wings, fries, and beer, only spent $50. Not bad.

The Hop Knot when it was on Main St in Middletown was amazing. So we decided to check the one out in Portland. We walked in, and it looks like a small, dirty, dive bar. We were hit with an immediate and overwhelming smell of mold, and what smelled like dirty bathrooms. We sat at the bar briefly, which looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time. So we walked out. No idea how the food was or is… but we knew we couldn’t risk it.

Excellent food. Burgers were very good. The app came out at the same time as the food which isn’t ideal but that was about the only drawback. The bartender/waiter was super nice and fun to talk to. We’d definitely go back.

Wonderful place. They have a good selection of brews and the food is tasty. I loved the stuffed pretzels. I want to try them all. A great local establishment. I would like to see more porters and stouts.

Great food and beer. Went thinking it was the same place that had shut down in Middletown but a reopening on a smaller scale. Talking with the staff, the owners of the white dog cafe bought the name and the menu. Had some stuffed pretzels and wdc wings. You have to try the spicy PB&J wings!

I stopped in with Jared and Josh today on the bar and got a couple of pretzels (The Spinach and Artichoke as well as the smash burger) and a couple of drinks (Ice cream man draft and an Evan Williams old fashioned) and I’ve got to say I will be back. The bartenders (Jared and Josh) bring plenty of personality and expertise- I would definitely recommend stopping in!
