Completely gone is the notorious downtown bar, The Vault, and in its place is a midscale family-friendly restaurant and bar with soaring ceilings and original historic brickwork. The original Bank Building from the Late 1800’s is a labor of love with historic wooden windows and French doors for plenty of light, a back yard patio overlooking the river, and several upgrades happening soon. This 120 plus seat restaurant features Burgers, Steaks, fresh pastas and seafood, as well as other favorites. The Last Stop draws it’s name from The Dalles area being the Last Stop of the original Oregon Trail, and secondly from the bars that stood here before and were the Last Stop of folks who got hauled off to the local jail. Service was sub par. No enthusiasm or willingness to help. I felt she was there against her will. Most questions I had were answered with I don’t know. We ordered wings because she said they were voted best in town. I don’t know who voted, but I’ve had better wings at hooters. Service bad, food bad, and drinks were spendy. I’ll never go back.

1st off, unless you’re a michilen star restaurant, the highest rating you’ll get from me is 4 stars and this place deserves every star I’ve given. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service was phenomenal and the country fried steak was the best I’ve ever had. would recommend

The atmosphere was great. Especially the live music! My hamburger was pretty good, not the best I’ve ever had, but no complaints there. My fiance had the chicken fried steak, which was good but not worth the 25 dollar price tag. The servers were polite but forgetful, and they only came around the bare minimum. The restaurant wasn’t crowded and there were 4 or 5 of them. All in all I am not apposed to going back, but I would try other restaurants before I returned.

We stopped in for an early dinner on the 4th of July. The place wasn’t too busy and we were seated right away. There seemed to be two servers for the whole place, but with it being a holiday, I was okay with slower service.

I hate how inconsistent food at the last stop can be. Today’s experience was bad. The chicken strips I ordered for takeout were pathetic. Three of the four strips were small, thin, and dry. In the restaurant a few months ago the chicken strips were excellent, hand breaded, and moist. You just never know what you are going to get here. I don’t think I’ll be going back.

Service was okay but the food and feel of the place was great. Loved the food, I got shrimp pasta with a side of clam chowder and the chowder was full of clams and the shrimp was delicious. I didn’t take pictures I was just enjoying the food after a hike on my way home with my family.

We have been here several times. The service was fantastic. Tonight the service was the worst . Sat at the bar . Got one drink . Never got checked on once until 20 minutes into seating. Only 4 people at bar. Probably would of had another drink. Waitress finally checked on us..to tell us she not the bartender..still as I write this he came by once. Let him know we had been waiting 20 minutes to be checked on walked away..no apologies. Not busy at all. Very disappointed. Always have had great service.

I’ve eaten here a few times in the past few days. The food is tasty, but a bit pricey. The atmosphere is great. Only real issue is the service, which is a slower than it should be. Everyone I interacted with was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made up for some of the long waits. Will definitely go back next time I’m in town.

Nice place, met the owners awhile back, very nice. Menu is full of great options full bar with local craft brews. Live music a few times we have been there. Not a fan of their bloody mary, looks beautiful and lots of options for garnishes, but the mix was not my cup of tea. They can get pretty busy and service can be hit or miss.
