Very authentic Fuzhou comfort food served in basic settings. Everything is served in dsiposable plates or cups, but everything we have tried is so delicious! The stir fried snow pea shoots were very tender and full of flavor. Fish ball soup was piping hot and had about ten fish balls (for only $3). The Fuzhou style spare ribs were deep fried with chunks of taro in a sweet and sour sauce. The veggies in the pork fried rice noodles ($5) were just a tad bitter, which was perfect for the dish. For sure this food has more subtle flavor than say sichuan cuisine, but still outstanding in its own way. Five stars.

Great Fujian restaurant tucked away on Division street. As I understand it, cuisine from this particular region is in the decline within the area but this remains as one of the great shining beacons of the food they enjoy. I had the lychee pork (amazing) and Fuzhou noodles. Both were great and it was entirely too much food that I happily devoured. I think the “over rice” food typically comes with some steamed veggies so that would be more than enough food but it’s so cheap that i didn’t mind indulging and supporting a fine local spot.

The price for rice dishes has become a rip off. I paid 8 dollars for a fish fillet rice dish with barely any fish in it and only two pieces of mushrooms.

Walked in on a cold day to find a bustling, warm restaurant. People were chatting and jamming noodles into their mouths. The noodles with peanut sauce (located under appetizers) are savory and nourishing, warm and filling. Grab a fried crueller to go with your stew and dip into it for a fulfilling treat. A great taste of Fukinese cuisine.

Love this hole in the wall Fujianese shop. We were worried they would close from the pandemic but were delighted to see that they’re still open, and the food is still just as good. Super fast, affordable, and have all the Fujianese dishes we want – wontons, peanut noodles, beef tendon soup, taro cake, stir fried nian gao (rice cakes), mi fen (rice noodles), and more. You know its good when their clientele is mostly older Chinese people. This is a favorite place of ours and we’ll be back frequently.
