Service was good. The food wasn’t bad but any means. It just wasn’t what I expected. I’ve had alot of Mexican food and this was very taco belly. When you add things like Lettuce to your burrito it’s not great. Mean was under seasoned. Etc. Like I said decent but not the best I’ve ever had, but then again can’t expect much from a Mexican joint on the coast apparently.

We really enjoyed our family dinner at Taqueria La Barca. My husband and I both had carnitas burritos, our son had a three taco plate. Delicious, all of it! Excellent service, and great prices. We look forward to dining here again!

Been in town for work and after a couple attempts at Mexican restaurants I finally found a good one. The staff is super nice here and take real good care of everybody. I’ve made it a weekly visit while I’m here for work and highly recommended for anybody visiting Arcata.

Made from scratch delicious Mexican food best describes Taqueria La Barca. Tucked away in an industrial strip mall sits this wonderful Mexican restaurant. It is a rainy night, we score a parking space in front and enter a very clean and welcoming restaurant. Chips to the table, drink order taken we start the process of menu discovery. We decide to share an order of chicken taquitos, I order carnitas and my wife the shrimp ceviche tostada. Everything is delightful and full of flavor. We learn that grandma is in back cooking. Dishes made with love and pride and we can tell. We eat a lot of Mexican food and this ranks with the best. Easy 5 stars! We must return someday in the future. Is tomorrow too soon?
