We called and ordered a family pack and added a dozen green chili cheese tamales to be ready to pick up on 5/26 around 5:45pm. When we arrived to pick up our order, they were just throwing together the tacos so they would be as fresh as possible for us when we got home. Everything else was hot and ready. We got a dozen enchiladas (half beef and half chicken), and dozen tacos, a quart of rice and a quart of beans, two gallons of tea, and two salsas with two bags of chips. Everything was very delicious, but my favorites were definitely the tamales and the salsa. This was more than enough to feed eight people, and everyone loved the food. Great way to feed a large party for a great price. We will be back!

The food is good but is not anything spectacular. The setting is typical for an older Mexican restaurant and the counter service was great. I would go back for a quick but decent meal.

We eat here regularly and never had a bad experience. The food is pretty consistent and thats 1 of the good things about it. The service is great and goes good with there good food. If you are in the lubbock area stop by and try it out you won’t regret it.

Leal’s has always been a favorite of mine. It is just good food! There prices are also reasonable. The menu at this location is very short and their dining area is very small. So get there early or plan on takeout because it gets packed quick!

Updated review: remained open during thr pandemic serving the same consistantly wonderful food!! Good combos, carne guisada, tamales. Noticed prices have increased slightly, but service remains friendly and food ad good as ever! Please continue to support the local owned businesses like this one. The work their tails off and are definitely worth helping to stay open!!!

The only place in Lubbock where I go to eat enchiladas & tamales. The sweet iced tea is the best. The owner & staff make you feel like family, so much that you just want to hang around after you’ve finished your meal. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

Yesterday was my first time eating here and it was a very pleasant experience! The lady at the front counter greeted me warmly and made suggestions and got me accommodated well! Food and service are always excellent, any time of day. The restaurant and bathroom are always clean. The building itself could use an upgrade, as the dining area is cramped and the only bathroom is in need of repair. Not sure how we could handle them closing down long enough to do the remodel, though!

Wehhh boy let me tell you! I tried 3 out of 5 types of tamales they have, and oh my goodness!!! Best tamales I’ve ever eaten in my life. The queso was also flavorful along side the refried beans and the rice with it’s spice. I will most definitely be getting tamales from here again next month.
