Friday busy evening here after hearing great things about this place. Hugo’s failed to meet my expectations sadly. They offer Mexican/Tex-mex favorites and are pretty affordable with entrees ranging from $10-20 each. They even have pork tamales on the menu. Ordered the steak fajitas with an a’la carte enchilada. For the enchiladas, they offer whatever type of sauce you could want, from tomatillo to Chile con carne. The steak fajita was the only reason I gave 2 stars as it was so tender and juicy that my mother who is missing half of her teeth was able to enjoy the steak effortlessly. Between mom and I, we had beef, cheese, and chicken enchiladas- all which were very bland and had over cooked tortillas (hard). The rice and refried beans were not good at all either, and they do not offer black beans. The chips and salsa was decent and served in some beautiful carafe type dish. We sat in Anayale’s section in the busy restaurant and the service was not great. After receiving the wrong order and informing her that the order was incorrect, we were met with a “uh, let me take some orders from the other tables and I’ll be back”. She didn’t come back for a little bit and then finally we received the correct order, but by that time my food was already demolished. Not sure if she was caught off guard by the mix-up or what, but an apology for the mix up would’ve went a long way. Either way, if you’re in town, there are far better Mexican restaurants to try.

Signs say closes at 9:30… got there about 9:15. We knew what we wanted, have been a regular there for several years, and told them so, but they would not serve us. Said they don’t seat anyone after 9:10. They should post the time they stop serving so people don’t waste their time on a trip to their restaurant. Won’t be going back since that’s how they treat their customers. They care more about themselves.

So the husbae and I were looking to spend a little quality time together and dine out. He googled search Mexican restaurants near us and Hugo’s popped up. I was a little skeptical after reading the reviews, but decided to give it a try. Let me tell you how glad I am that this restaurant popped up.

Just picked up an order to go for fajitas and 2 beef enchilada dinners. Get home and there are no fajitas, only the fixings. Called Hugo’s and was pretty much told that I was lying and that the food had been placed in the bag. Service is horrible. Don’t waste your time or money.

Best service and great food! We came in on a very busy night and had the sweetest waitress! We were seated quickly and everyone had a smile on their face. Wonderful time! Thank you to the lady with tattoos on her forearms you’re amazing sorry I didn’t catch your name.

Ordered the grilled chicken and shrimp, shells were left on the shrimp, so you had shells fall over everything, not good. Chicken was great. Server did not check on us, someone else helped us, with refills.

Our new favorite Mexican restaurant to go to! All the servers are super nice, Andrea is one of our favorites. ( I think that’s her name lol she drives a white Camaro and always comes and says hi to us and our baby!)

My husband and I stopped by this Sunday afternoon around 2pm for a late lunch. When we stepped in, the hostess was seating someone else waiting and when she returned she didn’t even acknowledge us until I made eye contact and asked where we could sit. We thought we were going to miss the lunch crowd but the place was moderately packed. Only 1 open table that I saw so we asked if we could sit at the bar. The hostess said “yeah I think so, she can help you” pointing at the woman behind the bar. Super weird. We sat and were greeted by the woman that was clearly standing in for the normal bartender. She was very nice though and took our drink order and handed it off to one of the waitresses who was clearly very new.

Whoever says this place food was good must have covid, and has lost there sense of taste. The food is awful and cold. Even the our waiter says she doesn’t eat anything there. The bartender was rude like he didn’t want to make no drink, like we was getting on his nerves. The whole experience was a hot mess. Everything taste like snott up there. FRFR.. If I could give no stars I would have ….
